Stunning statistics. We should just stop sniping at Kris Boyd and thank God we have him at Rangers.

You still want WS sacked? Or did the double change your mind? Noticed you changed your wee comment.

So we should just accept a lack of effort?

Or perhaps we should be looking for him to improve his game as he was able to do at times in the second half of last season?

I think we've seen enough of Kris Boyd to know that he is what he is and that he'll never really be able to change his style of play. There are aspects of his play I'd love to see improved upon but I could say that about every other player in the Rangers first team squad. In better times, Kris Boyd might struggle to get a game but these are not better times and he is the best we're likely to see for the forseeable future.

All I wanted to say was that those are terrific statistics and we should be glad we have a guy who is consistently the top goalscorer in the country. Sniping at his isn't going to change him and we're not going to be able to afford to replace him with anyone better.

I'd rather have someone who has a dubious workrate but scores goals than a striker who runs all day but couldn't to hit a barn door with a banjo.

Only missed one game through suspension during his time at Ibrox (Motherwell a - 30 July 2006)

Has only missed 5 games through injury - all in the period 9/12/06 to 27/12/06 incl.

Terrific stats IMO. Nothing better than a goalscorer who is never injured (or suspended), reminds me of McCoist before his leg break.

Not meaning to cause unrest but until Boyd scores against the bigger teams ie Celtic and in the CL then he'll always be the nearly man.

I like Boyd, he does what he is paid to do and he does it well but to be a top class striker it's the big games that are remembered and counted. I hope he does manage to crack it this season before he heads off for pastures new.

You'll notice the big games have been counted. It's the complete record. And Boyd doesn't really play in the big games. So who do we blame for him not scoring in the big games? Boyd? or Walter?:giruy:

V Celtic = 6 SPL games incl 1 as sub, 1 goal

17 European Games, 3 Goals

Boyd for not showing that he can do it against the bigger teams when he plays. WS can't be blamed for not picking him. It's obvious, everyone sees it that Boyd can't play the lone striking role in a 4-5-1.

He featured in most OF games last year did he not ? He missed the first one but I thought he played in the rest. Admittedly that is only one season in 4 but he has been getting more exposure to the bigger games recently.
