Statement from The Blue Order and Union Bears

Recommended Posts

Excellent statement and would agree that the "No Surrender" bit is inappropriate. Keep up the great work.

What bizarre times we live in.

A water bottle is deemed more of a security hazard than flying seats, flares and smoke bombs.

Even more bizarre is the Government bringing in legislation - primarily directed at Celtic and Rangers - to protect people from being offended at football matches.

Then we have the two sets of bitter rivals saying "Eh, no thanks, we're not offended, we don't want it!"

You just couldn't make this up.

There clearly needs to be more dialogue between the police, stewards,Rangers FC & TBO/UB section. That section is always jumping, singing, displaying banners and must be very difficult for a steward or the police to get in and speak to someone if they feel the need to do so,to try and barge your way in to get someone is only creating an hostel atmosphere and will of course get a reaction from the other fans in that section as they have no idea why this is happening.

from what I gather, this seems to have come about as a result of a fan having a bottle of water.

Are you not able to buy bottles of juice inside the stadium???

Nope. It's an offence to possess a container whether alcoholic or non alcoholic within a football stadium. It's a statutory law!

The No Surrender at the bottom will be a direct dig at Rangers who have banned all scarfs, flags and banners with any reference to King William of orange or the slogan No Surrender bad enough when the outside world is against you without the club joining them.

If the stewards hadn't turned into jumped up wee Hitlers think that would work but any attempt to talk to these muppets ends with a grunt and told to get back to your seat or am calling the polis, only time you get a smile off a steward is on the way out, a lot of monobrows about me thinks.

Not sure I agree with this piece.

In the Tims case I think they are saying "We arent sectarian, we arent bigots, we dont sing offensive songs.... but we WILL reserve our right to be offended by the huns whenever we choose to be so"
