Financial blow for Scottish football's restructure plan

Recommended Posts

I think that's part of it.

But I think ignorance and sheer bloody mindedness is the major factor.

Unless the SPL have visions of starting a Newco pronto, and reneging on existing liabilities.

If the rumours about Dundee United are true and the Bank is propping them up time being, then this would explain Thompson desperation to get this reconstruction pushed through. Although they would still be in the financial toilet, maybe he's more concerned with the aftermath of administration. As we have seen the SFL deal with administration events far more leniently, therefore maybe the new articles of association look more favourable too (being forewarned about the forthcoming alleged Hearts and Dundee-U Administration events) in dealing with these circumstances. Just some random thoughts here.

You would think this would be important, but it seems Green telling lies about Dallas Cowboys is more important.

Scottish Football deserves each other the whole place is a joke including us.

On a sidenote, much like the ManU stuff, who knows to which person/director/executive Green spoke (if he did it), most likely in a private chat. That does not mean that either club knows what was said there or that this might be the official stance of the respective club. Obviously, Green should not go out and tell about ManU or the Cowboys being interested in us unless he has actually talked to the CEOs et al, but neither would I by default name him a "liar" because of this or that other previous.

I'd hope some of the other SPL clubs just ask their supporters as well, they are adapt in that. The remark about to pro-group in the First comes as no surprise. Utterly no self-interest in there, nope, none whatsoever ...

Can't see how reconstruction would save Dundee utd. Must be something we don't know why Thompson is so keen to get this vote through.

If anything the SFL have a history of being far harsher than the SPL on clubs going into administration. The SPL let Motherwell, Dundee and Livingston off with warnings. Meanwhile the SFL threw the book at Dundee & Livingston . Even Dunfermline have now been given more punishment by the SFL than the SPL handed us for going into admin ...or at least that would have been the case if we'd successfully negotiated a CVA exit.

Reconstruction may save him because he perhaps knows that without it the sponsorship cash is gone.

Example - with the current deal renewing on same terms he may be in a position to "breakeven" or "survive" - but if the deal is on much reduced terms then they could be in a perilous state.

I can agree with that, but did the SPL not then tighten up and increase the rules and punishments for insolvency and administration events, after they let us off with the slap on the wrist for our events (Just joking There)

However now the shoe is on the other foot so to speak, knowing that administration is a real possibility for a few SPL clubs maybe they have decided to relax those rules again so that those SPL clubs going into administration are not relegated to the third division, heavily fined and big points deductions. I would not put that past the corrupt cartel.

The SPL haven't got a replacement sponsor for the CB yet have they ? that's money they'll all be missing for starters.

But it's this SKY deal which few have seen which intrigues me. Why so secretive ? Got to be something financially connected to us I think. Something which will cause mayhem once out in the open
