SPL Vote Defeated!!

Recommended Posts

Just out of interest ... as it stands, the SPL remains what it is. What about any formation of an "SPL 2" on an invite basis (essentially including all SFL 1 clubs plus perhaps the relegated team from the SPL, though you wonder what happens to the one/two relegated from SFL 1 to SFL 2), can they just split from the SFL like rebels, create their own set-up under the guidance of the SPL and the SFA and SFL look on? I would expect there are rules for all clubs and entities here ...

Just had a look at KDS.

Football in this country is being hated out of all existence.

I can't see any way back now.

The Gilmour vote was apparently a Masonic conspiracy, and we're going to buy St Mirren so that we can leapfrog into the SPL.

These f@ckwits would be dangerous with a brain.

Actually they would be less dangerous with a brain.

Lets remember who destroyed our national game.

I heard mention of 'all the clubs should refuse their County ticket allocation'.

This is the power of the media, selling nonsense. Fans wont boycott, any comments I have read from other fans of SPL teams have been saying well done to County and St Mirren. The fans didnt want it!

County and St Mirren were spot on to vote they way they wanted, since when do they have to choose to benefit other clubs who have been poorly managed.

SPL2 would currently be no different to the current system, it would be in name only. There would be no finance to back it. Yet it would give the SPL body more clubs to have a bigger say but the SFL have the 'only show in town' which is where any deal lies with.

As you may be aware, the Club recently conducted a supporters survey aimed at identifying the various initiatives and changes needed to create a better match day atmosphere at Pittodrie, with one of the main outcomes being to try and ensure greater numbers of supporters in fewer areas around the stadium.

The Club also attempted to contact all season ticket holders currently seated in the upper section of the Richard Donald Stand to ascertain their views on whether they would be willing to relocate next season to a different part of the stadium. The overall response from the vast majority of supporters contacted was that they would be willing to relocate and as a result - in addition to the feedback from our recent fans survey on the match-day experience at Pittodrie - the Club has taken the decision to close the RDS Upper Deck for the 2013/2014 season.*

With almost three quarters of Aberdeen fans stating they would like to sit in the more heavily populated areas of Pittodrie Stadium, we hope this move will encourage the migration of our supporters to areas of the stadium which are less concentrated.

All those moving from the RDS Upper will be given priority to take advantage of the best seats made available when we reach our seat release date with discount for the new season to compensate for the inconvenience.

AFC would also invite any supporters who wish to display a banner in the RDS Upper Deck for next season to contact the Club and we will make the necessary arrangement for these to be displayed on a permanent basis for the duration of the season.

Aberdeen FC is committed to making the match-day experience a memorable one for our dedicated supporters. We want Pittodrie to become a 'fortress' again and for the Red Army to be united in voice as they back the team on a match-day.

:D:lol:

This is as close to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic as it is possible to get without getting your feet wet.

Presumably the letter sent to the people to tell them of their intention to close part of the Richard Donald stand was sent out prior to the reconstruction meeting on Monday. Even if the proposals had gone through, This indicates that Aberdeen were not anticipating an increase in attendances. It also supports the contention that their main hope lay with TV money.
