we will need players of this quality to win the first. more or less.

we should have cut costs to the bone in div3 and then built them slowly.

instead of costs of 19 million last year we should have had costs of 5million and 14 million in the bank.

now we need another 14 million in investment instead.

That doesn't really instill much confidence in Allys ability to manage to be honest mate.

I agree about the cost cutting.

Next to none of these players will be any use to us in the top tier. As for staff, i can't see many if any being paid off tbh.

a good whack of our 1st team are either experienced SPL players, or are easily of that quality:

Bell

Foster

Jig

Wallace

Law

Black

Temps

Daly

Little

Then you have Perry & Hutton who have some Top tier experience. We need to maintain the current 1st team to have any real hope of competing in the top 2 tiers. The championship next year is looking like its gonna be a good league with a high level of competition.

Just shows how badly the club was being run. Only a few months ago, it must have been known that the financial position was dire, yet Ally was allowed to sign, amongst others, players like Foster, Smith, Simonsen etc. when we already had adequate cover. As Financial Director, did Stockbridge not explain that these extra wage bills were unaffordable? If he didn't, it is shameful or if he did and his advice was disregarded, this is just as bad.

We don't need half of them neither this or next season. Our board and manager are completely insane to sanction a team like that in our position and McCoist must have no confidence in his own ability if he thinks he needs a team of ex SPL players to win

So was Sandaza and Kyle. Having SPL experience means nothing. We need players who are going to challenge Celtic, not go through the motions playing for a Motherwell or Hibs.

Perry is diabolical and a coward and Hutton is just not good enough.

In my opinion our current first team and wider squad is not one capable of competing in the SPL but right now that is not our problem. As for next year in the Championship, it may have a few big clubs but they are not good teams, Hearts will be there too but they are Heart of Midlothian in name only, not standard. They are dreadful and have no money to improve so will likely only get worse.

The players we are going to need long term will not come to Rangers right now nor cna we afford them. We should have had a strong core of youth taking us through the leagues whilst saving money for when we will really need it. Frankly paying guys like Black and Templeton thousand of pounds per week to win part time leagues is scandalous.

Would you be saying that if we weren't winning games???

I said at the time I never understood this, still don't. Ally's thinking baffles me as much as the Stockbridge not stopping him

Yes. I've said it all along our youngsters are learning nothing and by the time we get back to the SPL we'll have to shell out again.

Bell is an ok keeper but Gallagher woulda done a job gained experience learned from his mistakes etc. But we loaned him out to gain experience why? He could easily have done that with us.
