Unfortunately, we can't trust them to bring in an adequate replacement, and if they end up being replaced too, their preferred candidate may not be popular with a new incoming board.

My hope is they go with a safe bet, a fans favourite even, short term. Anything but what we have now, please.

I don't want a fan favourite in. People are too forgiving of their shortcomings, and anyway, I'd like to see a clean break from the negative and unimaginative way we play the sport. Another Smith disciple would not be a good idea.

I want new blood and a new blueprint.

One things for sure I hope its not Barry Ferguson next. Hasn't won a game at Blackpool and are in free fall in the league.

As Hildy said yesterday, the club needs to break away from this jobs for the boys mentality. We need a clean break. Something fresh. Ferguson is every bit as inept as McCoist.

I hope we don't end up taking Walter back even if on a short term deal. He's a lot better than McCoist but we need a clean break and need to start playing modern football. I think Walter had control for far too long and his shadow still remains. We played very turgid football under him for the most part and McCoist is basically just a woeful version of him, with the same mentality but lacking the tactical organisation and strong defense. Time to playing 21st century football...

PS - By taking Walter back I'm thinking if things are going pear shaped next season and possibly if it's a different board.

Fully agree unless the person is flying at his current club and deserves a go. The other problem is we may opt for a fresh outsider or foreigner like PLG but the methods wont go down well with players.

In the past I wanted Kevin Keegan to come in. His attacking football would be entertaining if anything.

Wouldn't mind a foreigner as long as he was properly prepared to take over.

For your Keegan i give you Glenn Hoddle. ;)

I like Ron Jans now at Zwolle. He kept mediocre clubs as Groningen and Herenveen fighting High in the Dutch leagues. He is also used to working on a tight budget and also knows the Dutch bargains.
