Rumour is Kelly has rejected a new contract so not sure how eager the manager will be to give him a chance.

Robby McCrorie is very highly thought of but still too young.

Another one to the list. Does the board fancy addressing this at all?

And lets give Simmo a chance, he was brought in should Bell get injured and this is what's happened. Some may look at the DU error but lets not forget he pulled off the best save of the season aswell.

Goram made a few errors early in his Rangers days, he turned out ok. I'm not suggesting Simmonsen is that level but my point stands.

Lets just see how he does from now on in.

Bell doesn't command his box and rarely comes out for crosses. If Simonsen does well he might find he's got the job for keeps

That would strike true for most managers but under Ally some play regardless mate.

Bell will never be dropped.

From what i've seen of the two keepers, I feel Bell is the superior. Simonsen has only played in a handful of games, but barring one save, he's looked shaky. When you add in Mohsni's tendency to be shaky as well, it doesn't fill anyone with confidence.

I felt that Gallagher was a better keeper than Simonsen.....

Update from club on various players' injuries:

http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/7478-bell-having-shoulder-scan

CAMMY BELL is having a scan on his right shoulder today as Rangers try to determine how badly hurt he is.

The goalkeeper hurt himself during last Friday’s 2-0 win over Falkirk in the SPFL Championship when he collided with a post in the second half.

That caused him to miss yesterday’s 8-1 Petrofac Training Cup victory against Clyde, with Steve Simonsen taking his place in the side.

One newspaper report this morning claimed Bell could be sidelined for up to three months if Gers’ worst fears are realised.

But manager Ally McCoist is adamant nothing has been confirmed yet regarding how long he could be without his number one.

He said: “I’m not sure Cammy has actually dislocated his shoulder. There is a problem with it though and he has seen the specialist about it.

“He was reasonably happy with him and he’s going for scan today. He seems a lot better and has a far greater range of movement than he had.

“Cammy will give me a call once he has been in and I’d be hopeful of good news rather than anything too bad.

“Considering we’ve not had a report on the scan yet, we don’t know how long he’ll be out for but we’ll have a far better idea of where we are later on.

“I know from Cammy’s view, having spoken to him this morning on the phone, that he feels a whole lot better.”

Elsewhere, Richard Foster is the most likely of Gers’ sidelined players to miss Saturday’s meeting with Dumbarton in the Championship with a calf problem.

Ian Black is expected to be fit after recovering from the same thing to take a place on the bench yesterday, where he remained as an unused substitute.

Kenny Miller wasn’t in the squad but did some running with physio Stevie Walker this morning and Arnold Peralta is now back in full training again.

Jon Daly has also worked outdoors for the first time since the first few days of pre-season after being cleared to step up his rehabilitation from a knee problem.

Nicky Clark and Fraser Aird both came off in the second half against Clyde but Rangers still need to wait for their problems to settle before they can tell how badly hurt they are.

My cousin is his brother Sean's friend, Liam has been demanding showdown talks with Ally but the manager has been ignoring him apparently.

They are a big Celtic supporting family as well, he may well end up there.

Best wishes to Cammy Bell and hopefully it's not serious enough to keep him out for too long. If it turns out that it IS going to be up to 3 months, then we'll need to hope Steve Simonsen stays fully fit.

Anyone know what the story is with young Alan Smith? Is he still with us and is he fit because he seems to have disappeared from the picture? He was previously in the U20 pecking order, but these days it seems to be Liam Kelly, Robbie McCrorie, then Lewis McMinn.
