Murray certainly wanted to sell. However, we may never know the level of pressure that LBG put on to accept the Whyte deal. It's my opinion that even if Murray didn't want to accept it, the bank would have ensured that it happened.

As much as we can blame Murray for leaving himself open to the bank's wishes, I doubt he'd have sold to Whyte given the chance not to.

 

Claims of him being 'duped' are also nonsense though IMO.

 

Like I say, any inquiry should go as far back as the initial sale anyway.
