That Friday feeling: Rangers v Greenock Morton

Recommended Posts

Strangely enough when we got that free kick I said to my son we should try hitting it under the wall for once,he agreed but that it should be Halliday to hit it"lo and behold result".

Don't enjoy games being on Friday night or any other mid week as no time to socialise before or after,Saturday or at a push Sunday are the day/s for games.

JASON HOLT bagged his tenth goal of the season against Dundee on Saturday and the midfielder is hoping to keep his run going and bag as many as he can this season.

The midfielder is in double figures in terms of goals for the first time in his professional career this season at the Gers and he knows that with the attacking manner that the Light Blues play he could yet grab more before the end of the campaign.

Speaking exclusively to RangersTV this week, Holt said: “It’s nice now to get into double figures for the season. I hadn’t scored in a few games, so it was perhaps a wee weight off my shoulders.

“I’d been getting chances, so I knew that if I kept getting into the right positions that eventually one would go in and that was the case on Saturday.

“I had high hopes that I’d get goals, but I hadn’t set myself a target or anything like that. I’m delighted that I’ve got ten now and I just want to keep going and get as many as I can.

“I always take each game as it comes and I want to get on the scoresheet as many times as I can between now and the end of the season and see where I end up.”

Only Martyn Waghorn Kenny Miller and James Tavernier have scored more goals for the Gers than Holt this season and he thinks that the freedom that he is given to roam at the Light Blues has paid a crucial role in that.

He continued: “I think that has to do with the style of play that the manager has implemented.

“We play with a lot of freedom throughout the squad, especially from midfield which allows me and the other midfielders to get forward often and join in attacks.

“It’s really good and it suits be down to a tee.”

Thought Holt struggled for a couple of matches after his injury but was better against Raith and Dundee so hoping for similar tonight. He really is a cracking wee player - lives on the fringes of games but works incredibly hard. Reminds me of Naishame to a degree.

Agree Frankie, think he's had a terrific season thus far and i just love the wee guy to bits but reminds me more of an Alex McDonald type (for us older fans) than Naismith.

Just getting ready to head off to match. Got back from hols on wed night, it was horrible not being there for Dundee game?. Hope we keep ourselves focused as Duffy will have that mob well up for it, and watch out for the "industrial" tackling employed! Lets give them pelters all night After what happened to Andy Halliday?! WATP.
