Dreaming of Europe

Recommended Posts

we were forced to play 5 games in 10 days - 4 games in the last 7 days - one of which was a Uefa cup final as we chased 4 tournaments and were given no leeway whatsoever as we were told it all came down to sporting integrity

this proves the decision taken then was bigoted

Yes, but you simply cant ask a team to play two games in two days. Absolutely nobody would see the sense in that.

I think the rest is more important given the number of games we play.

I'm sure the manager and his coaching team will have it all planned out - with or without European football.

If you train hard for a while, you won't lose any fitness with a week's rest and have a good chance of actually being fitter afterwards as muscles repair and body has time to make physiological changes.

You do start to lose something after two weeks but you can prevent that with a bit of basic exercise - just a bit of running, cycling, swimming and a few medium intensity sessions in the gym.

A reasonable diet with the odd treat will also stop the pounds coming on - it's not time to stuff your face with doughnuts every day...

You should have advised McCoist of that when he was in charge mate. A copy and paste to Boyd wouldn't go amiss too. :sigh:

We did not play two games in two days. It would be ridiculous. Yes our schedule was heavy, as will Hibs' be but you do not play games on consecutive days.

We'd be (more of) a laughing stock as footballing nation

move the second leg back then and make them play the same schedule we did.

and scottish football was called out as ludicrous when they did it to us

even zenit couldn't believe it.

with the football season in the lower leagues being over beginning of May, will we have any loan players back that could be eligible to fill in as squad players if need be?

hardie is with raith and we are light up front but he could go to the play off final - would we let him though?

We will have Waghorn back so I doubt we will recall Hardie

I'd leave him there and see if he can do some damage to Hibs.
