Bluebear54s GPL 2016/17 Rangers v Ross County

Recommended Posts

Easy write-up this round.

Compo gets 1 point for the Correct Result, with Compo, Whosthedado and Barebear gaining 1 point for the Correct Number of Rangers Goals.

Yorkie Bear gets 2 points for Wallace as FGS.

And finally, Compo gets 3 points for the Correct Score -- unfortunate not to get another 2 points but had the wrong Full-Back as FGS!

Can I suggest a new rule for 17-18 where there are no points for the result, only Rangers goals, correct score (Rangers wins only) and first Rangers scorer.

It really sticks in my craw that Bears will predict, in a daft wee bit of fun like this, anything other than a Rangers win. For them to be rewarded for their disloyalty with points makes the feeling worse.

There have been many games this season I haven't fancied us to win, so I just pick how many goals I think we will score and forecast a Rangers win on that basis so if I'm right I will get our goals right even if the result is wrong.

I like to bet on football, but I have NEVER bet against us even when the odds are incredibly generous and I think we will get pumped (like at Tynecastle). What Bear can do that?

If the consensus is against this fair enough, as I say it's just a bit of fun.

Also a deadline of one hour before kick-off for predictions to be in for (before line-ups are announced) as some of us attending the game don't have the luxury of picking the FGS 'after' seeing the team sheet.

It's no coincidence that Rousseau has 7 correct FGS's since all his predictions come after he knows who's playing.

Would be even more fun for 2017-18. :D

Agree with Bearman's suggestion, even 2 hours as line ups can be known 90 mins prior.

But dont agree with Tannoch - Its impossible to win every game so nothing wrong with predicting a draw - doesnt mean we want that score.
