  1. 1. Spend cash on Manager or keep for player transfers???

    • Splash cash on quality Manager, at expense of transfer budget
    • "Cut price" manager & Full transfer budget

A good manager is vital. A bad manager may not get the same value for money so we may not end up with a better team even if we move cash to a transfer budget.

We won't have a huge transfer budget anyway so it's not going to make that big a difference.

For me, a manager or coach should be able to deal with the players at his disposal, improve them, find a system, or series of systems to suit, and improve the team's performances and results; at very least, if he inherits a successful and confident squad, he should be able to keep it rolling. Otherwise, there is little point in having him in the first place.

I think most people have had enough of Chequebook Champs, quite frankly.

While I concede that the current squad requires an overhaul, the scale of that is an unknown, until a new man works with and assesses the talent.

Therefore, I am inclined to say, "Hire the best manager/coach you can afford; hire one you can trust; hire one who has confidence in his skills, and his professionalism; hire one who will put the work in."

I am not saying that finding such a paragon is easy, but, when I think of the laziness and cynicism of a recent incumbent's tenure.......really, there is no alternative.

I'm not telling you how I voted. That, pal, is between me and the ballot box.
