Yes I think I am real although many a woman has said I was their lovely wee toy.

 

As JHunter said it is his total packet which does not impress me and supposedly signed because the interviewers thought he talked well. Well my wife talks well but it does not make her a good football manager.

With Warburton and Mutry you could see an improvement in the team almost directly and could see how they wanted the team to play. With PC it is obvious even the players have no idea how they have to play.

Can you explain his philosophy because it is certainly not evident at this time.

I wont try and convince you of anything because I know I would be wasting my time and I have better things to do.

 

Generally and not aimed at you: There is a quite a bit of "just because" in there, for lack of a better wording. Then again, it is quite often that we see people apparently (sic!) ignoring a few vital facts. We only saw improvement in the last couple of games under Murty, he started with defeats at Dundee and ICT, while we laboured to a 3-2 win over St. Johnstone at home. Just ahead of that draw vs the Scum we hammered the poorest side in the league, a feat the Caixinha team managed a week later too. After that, we were back against the usual fare of mid-table SPFL dross parking the bus and going in solidly against our more skilled but "weaker" players ... who seemingly don't like that sort of football, at least not this season. On top of that, at Killie,we had a semi-functional defence, something which psychologically sure hampered our all-round play as well. And that strange surface. Plus a certain level of play we never seem to surpass, no matter who is or was in charge. As if no-one on the park is able to take the initiative and do something that befits his quality.

 

All just factors - not excuses. Something one should throw into a debate and not brag on about us being Rangers and we have to and should and whatnot. "Should" and life / reality are two different things. At times it is baffling - after all these recent years and experiences - that so many seemingly just go on and conveniently forget a few things that influence each game.

All i'm looking for right now in the way of 'should be' is that we should be in Europe and though it's been a difficult first season back i'm still confident we will be. The key for the summer transfer window is securing players who can get us through the qualifiers and into the Europa league proper.

 

That's actually all Dave king too aimed for at this point when he took over and if we can achieve that it will be a huge step back towards the place we 'should' be and could all on it's own be enough to leave the sheep and hearts of this league trailing far behind us.

We have to remember he's not had a settled side either. He had free reign against Hamilton, got a good result, then names the same side I think -- maybe with one change? -- for Motherwell and then that goes completely out the window at half-time. The game at the weekend again had two youngsters in defence and no Toral dictating play. If people are judging him on that I don't know what they expect, and can only surmise that they've approached it that way regardless of how he'd do.

 

In terms of improvement, I think there has been significant change. Again, 3 games is a little early, but defensively I think we've been more solid, and we have been more direct. Two things we've been crying out for all season, but we all have to admit the players we have are only going to take us so far; they're just not good enough.

Rangers gaffer Pedro Caixinha disrespected us by naming his line-up so early, says Kilmarnock ace Conor Sammon

 

The Ibrox manager raised eyebrows on Tuesday when he announced his starting XI 30 hours before his side's Rugby Park clash with Killie - and Sammon says the move fuelled his side.

 

Conor Sammon has accused Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha of disrespecting Kilmarnock by naming his Light Blues line-up a day early.

 

The Ibrox manager raised eyebrows on Tuesday when he announced his starting XI a full 30 hours before his side's Rugby Park clash with Killie.

 

With a defence ravaged by injuries, the Portuguese coach confirmed youngsters David Bates and Myles Beerman would be making their first-team debuts at Rugby Park.

 

He later explained he had taken the unusual course of action as a show of faith in his depleted squad.

 

But Killie frontman Sammon says the move only served to fire up his side as they battled their way to a deserved 0-0 draw on Wednesday night.

 

"It's a bit of a strange one to be honest," he said. "I don't really understand the whole meaning behind it. I'm not sure if he was trying to highlight the fact that maybe they had a few injuries or something."But we used it for a little bit of extra motivation by thinking, 'Yeah, it's a little bit disrespectful'."It just fuelled us even more to go out and do the business on the park - and I thought we did that."

 

Caretaker Killie boss Lee McCulloch was adamant he did not change his starting line-up after Caixinha dispensed with the element of surprise.

 

But he did tinker with his game-plan, putting Sammon up against teenage left-back Beerman down the right wing.

 

The 18-year-old former Manchester City winger stood up to the test well and Sammon reckons he could have a big part to play for Rangers going forward.

 

The Irishman - who was lucky to get away with a clear second-half handball inside his own box - said: "He's a smallish full-back but I thought he did well. You can see he has a bright future in the game.

 

"We are always trying to play to our strength and pick up on little weaknesses that we think we can get at.

 

"It was a good test for us as Rangers are a good side but we're pleased to get a clean sheet and show some resilience when they had spells of pressure.

 

"Both teams had chances to win it. Sitting in the dressing room after we were frustrated we hadn't found the back of the net.

 

"Seany Longstaff had a great chance right at the end but overall a draw was maybe a fair result."

 

Beerman revealed he only discovered he was playing when Caixinha handed his line-up to the media during his pre-match press conference.

 

With skipper Lee Wallace now facing a month on the sidelines following surgery on an abdominal problem, the youngster could find himself vying with Lee Hodson for a starting slot when this month's Old Firm double header with Celtic comes around.

 

And Beerman insists he is ready and willing to face the newly-crowned Ladbrokes Premiership champions if Caixinha needs him.

 

"It was different class," grinned the Malta Under-21 international after his top-team bow. "It's always been my dream to be a professional footballer from a young age when I was a kid back in Malta."I can't really describe my feelings after making my debut for such a massive club with such a massive history.

 

"I spoke to Lee before the game. He's a great guy and really encouraged me. He gave me tips ahead of the game and told me to keep focused, to do my best and play for the badge.

 

"I'll just keep on working hard, doing my best and at the end of the day it will be the manager's decision (if I stay in the team to face Celtic). I just need to make sure I'm ready for it, no matter my age or physicallity. As a Rangers player, you've got to be ready mentally whenever the manager needs you so you can go out and perform no matter the circumstances."

As I pointed out recently, the Scottish media obviously pays its reporters and journalists per letter, so "footballer" has long since been replaced with "ace" and "star" and suchlike.

Agreed. That is the epitome of clutching at Rangers bashing straws. Not that it stops the media running with it.

Displaying your skill and football talent like one Oduwa did against "inferior" opposition was also slate by various sources ... and methinks fouling him in the process or saying that attempted kicks at him were essentially deemed appropriate and/or understandable.

 

However, should anyone ever dare to kick out or flatten Dembele, Sinclair and Co., hell will break lose and timber and wood will be gathered ...
