Pedro Press Conference

Recommended Posts

Enjoyed that press conference and everyone on here should watch it.

Of course actions should speak louder than words but as much as the manager deserves criticism, the players deserve it as well and those players will still be here if or when we sack the manager.

I like Pedro....I like how he talks & addresses the press etc - he's not afraid to speak his mind.

I also that that was an excellent press conference. He's basically saying that both he & the club have shown faith in the players. They are working well in training, but when they come up against a significant match, they are losing something in their play & as such they are letting down the club - they players need to take ownership of that, it's not something he can change or affect.

I also like how he comments on Scottish football in general - his 4 pillars - essentially saying that we are not skillful/technical enough to compete on a Euro/world stage. Something that many Scots have known for years...too much emphasis in physical size (big), and physical presence, rather than on the technicalities of the game, and it's simply failing to produce anything. The entire ethos of Scottish football is out of date & unable to evolve.

Hopefully the players will take note, and more of them will take charge of their own development & performance, going on to produce the standard that the manager, club & fans expect.

I was really hoping he would make a comment about our players being protected. Are we now relying on Brendan F*cking Rodgers having to highlight the disgraceful treatment of our players by the referees?

I agree with Pedro re: four pillars and was going to comment with, 'its attitudes like this that has left Scottish football without a recognised world class player in over 30 years and inability to qualify for a international tournament in 20 odd years', on that twitter discussion you had the other day with the fella who said Rangers should retaliate on the field.

I've got to be honest here Frankie he lost me a bit in his explanation with regards to the players. I got most of it but as I say he lost me a bit through it.

He's right we're still playing 70's football in this country and we'll continue to do that for the next 20-30 years.
