We Deserve Better - Rangers v Aberdeen

Recommended Posts

It was a convincing and comprehensive win in which we could have scored even more while they were limited to a few half chances. Let's hope we can now carry this on and stop reverting to poor from overwhelmingly dominant. An away win at their sheep pen could set us on a run that may carry us a long way.

Arguably wasn't even our strongest 11 yet they were still swept aside..

To be honest I don't think Rangers could have pulled this off if Alves and McCrorie were not so dominant. Some of the long balls from Alves were millimetre perfect.

It was great to see the defence do its job. Every time they went up the park, cue the butterflies in my belly, but they were strong. McKay-Steven should have scored right enough so we got away with that one.

My main observation is that we weren't trying to put the ball through the parked bus this time. We will still struggle against the smaller teams if they park the bus. I just don't think we have the magic to open those defences up. Elton certainly won't have that space to maraud into against the likes of Killie. If Aberdeen shut up shop a bit at the weekend, it will be painful.

Back to the positivity, we went toe to toe with our nearest rivals and when they tried to beat us, we destroyed them. I love it.

Major kudos to Murty. He changed things up and got the result!!!

Had we won those last two games and their score stays as is... we would be level on points with them. And those last two games should have been gimme’s
Had Celtic beat Killie and didn't draw last night they'd still be ahead of us.

Fact is we never won those games so there's no point with the imagine if scenario.

Excellent performance last night. Aberdeen had us on the back foot at the start of the 2nd half but that aside we absolutely dominated them. Pena's touch seemed to have improved and he took his goal well. The jury is still out though.

Ryan Jack seemed to take great delight in bossing the midfield against his former club.
