Big Dado had 31 goals in 90-odd appearances. Always got stuck in though, bled for the team.

Dado scored a reasonable amount of goals and gave assists aswell as bleeding for the team.

The report from the media outlet states that the Gers’ director of football Mark Allen wants to have both Barker and striker Umar Sadiq signed up and in Rangers shirts next week as manager Steven Gerrard wants to make a total of nine signings before the start of the Europa League qualification campaign, which commences on July 12 against Macedonians Shkupi.

Barker, an academy product at Premier League giants Man City, spent 2017/18 on loan at Hibernian where he scored one goal and assisted four so already has experience of playing in the Scottish Premiership.

We've already been through a slight ripple of Barker speculation a week or two back.

If not the the starting XI, it would certainly strenghten the squad and give us a more direct option of a speedy wideman who can get past defenders. He blew a bit hot and cold with Hibs but when he's on it, he can be a gamechanger.

While I agree that we should not become a loanee-party, some of these chaps are young, good and hungry ... the right mixture who want to make a name for themselves. I noted that quite a few of the superstars at the WC or even big clubs are not much older. In the case of Barker or Sadiq ... if they make their mark with us AND like what they see here AND are not tempted by the money of their parent clubs, we may even snatch them next summer for a reasonable fee (and sell them on for big buckets a year or two thereafter).

On another note, given that these loanees are high-calibre chaps (by comparison) they can be financial-sound options to secure what we want most without paying that much money straight away.

SG and Co. sure noted where we needed upgrades most and what cost us vital points - and this has been adressed by now. What comes from now till the end of the window is getting players off the wage-bill and adding some final touches to the midfield to front line. Maybe we should keep in mind that on SG & Allen's list might well be some players currently at the World Cup and thus unable to deal in.

EDIT: I have now included a small note behind those who are in Spain right now. At the bottom also a list of the youngsters currently not on the first team list. Milsom also noted today that Alves and any other latecomers will be brought up to speed" when they arrive.

Absentees: Beerman, Wallace, Cardoso, Barjonas, Forrester, Herrera

CARDIFF CITY have stepped up their interest in Josh Windass.

The newly-promoted Bluebirds are set to test Rangers’ resolve with an opening £1.5million bid.

Meanwhile, NK Osijek have banned their players from mentioning Gerrard and Gers ahead of a possible Europa League clash.

If they can beat Shkupi, the Ibrox side will almost certainly face a tricky test against Osijek, who are expected to comfortably see off Petrocub of Moldova.

Osijek beat PSV Eindhoven home and away last season.

£1.5m for Windass is probably an opening bid. I’d take £2.5m.

I’m pleased to see Barker linked. For me loans are fine as long as permanent transfers are likely after a successful spell. We lack pace and a proper dribbling winger and although his end product is very poor it should improve.
