[FT] Rangers 4 - 0 Marseille (Candeias 17, 43; Goldson 63; Defoe 75)

Some superb finishing and good pressing play. OM clearly fell away after 65 mins or the like, but we pressed them hard and played some lovely stuff still.

I don't think that we will have to fear much from the Scottish teams trying to play an open game against us, as we might verywell put them to the sword at leisure. The trench-and-brick brigade may be another matter. But for that, Jones and Docherty and Jack and Kamara all look very good.

Every minute Jones plays, the memory of Kent dwindles a wee bit. His play with Barisic on the left was at times reminiscent of our right-side pairing.

Very encouraging so far.

  • Lots of goals...5, 4, 4
  • None conceded....0, 0, 0
  • Good football & entertainment
  • No less than six against St.Joesph's though...

The above will add thousands onto crowd for Thursday.

Candeias was excellent in the first half. The side looked excellent all round to be honest, although I would not be playing Morelos in front of JD. Having said that, the frogs were well off the pace and looked like a training exercise for them.

We have encouraging signs from everyone though. Highlight of the day for me was Candeias second goal in the first half. A moment of class.
