Sidenote ... unless you play them, no matter where, you have no clue how your players or theirs shape up for this game. IMHO, Aribo is a good one, even won the ball regularly, but did not produce that much. Arfield was there, all over the place, but with only Defoe to play with, the options were limited.

 

As was said before the game, their defence line was there for the taking, but we ... i.e. SG chose to pack the midfield. That was never the area where the game was won. 

 

Essentially, a typical Old Firm game. Make mistakes, suffer the consequences. Do not take your chances, suffer the consequences. They are not better than us and IMHO we have every chance of getting three points at the Scumhut.

Have to see it back, but the way I saw it, Tav wanted to play an audacious pass along the far touch line, through a line of players.

Absolutely dreadful! Aribo was appalling. Katic was really poor. Tab had another shocker. Arfield looks slow. JD got no service. Team selection was bemusing.

 

The worst performance this season by a country mile. They looked sharper and hungrier. However, they also looked a poor side which shows you how bad we were!! Appalling!!

Manager lacked faith in players and bravery with that selection/formation. From the moment they hit the ball long at the K.O. we never asserted ourselves. They knew we had gifted them from the moment they saw our team sheet. 

 

Far too negative. They have the quality middle to front and are likely to score and our selection/formation never had 2 goals in it. Brown strolled through that game which says it all - last season we ran him ragged. 

 

Aribo backing out of tackle isn’t good enough. You just can’t do that. 

 

Benefit of doubt that Thursday took its toll but to not test that Celtic defence is pretty damning and Stevie Gerrard has to take primary responsibility on this one.

No idea how the ref can send off Jones but not McGregor. 

 

Celtc though were comfortable winners and gerrard has to take the blame for that. The team selection tactics and subs were baffling. 

 

The recruitment this summer has been misjudged as well.

But for inept finishing you could have been writing that about the Legia game.   I love Tav but if Barasic, Halliday or Flanagan had made as many  errors as the captain had this season they'd be getting dog's abuse.  He needs to up his game.
