It all came from an incident with Chris McLaughlin who could not find anything to say against the team and went to police control to see if they had anything unsavoury to report.

He is now in a senior position at BBC but must be pig sick at the apology.

The background was his 'partnership' with Toxic Jack during the dark years.

CMcL was a very willing conduit who would end whatever information he had been given with a editorial summary with the regime/ Irvine's slant.

Very surprising news.

Did Rangers need to concede anything to the B.B.C. ?

Doesn't seem like it so a very interesting piece of news.  Specific mention of Michael Stewart by RFC may mean he's present at the ground for coverage but possibly not.

That may be as close to a contrite apology (and confession of being in the wrong) as you will get from the BBC.

I remain of the opinion that talk is cheap, and that BBC Sports Scotland is a department which should be redd out completely, top to bottom, stem to stern. If this doesn't happen, then I anticipate much mealy-mouthed snidery from the usual suspects, much as before, but not so blatant.

Of course, no doubt these people will be "ragin'", which is a Good Thing, of itself, and fulminating among themselves about how they will subvert what may at least indicate a new editorial policy.

It is, of course, not over, until it is over.

What's unacceptable, BBC have resumed coverage after their self imposed ban. They've also apologised for unfair reporting, it's clear cut.

Perfectly simple I would tell them to stick their apology up their arse ,I dont eo forgive and forget.
