Catering

Following Levy UK taking over the catering at the stadium from Elior, and promising a "innovative" menu, I decided to try the stadium food.

 

The menu consisted of a burger, hot dog, scotch pie, steak pie and macaroni pie.

 

Hardly innovative and less of a choice than was offer last season.

 

I asked for a burger and was told that they didn't have them on last night, so reluctantly settled for a steak pie. My vegan daughter went for a packet of crisps.

 

On the plus side, water is now an option as a drink.

 

The steak pie was tasty enough but not that warm.

 

Perhaps the menu may become more expansive but given there weren't any burgers and they were being advertised, it seems to suggest that the menu will be unchanged in the near future.

 

I'll not be rushing back and will revert to the vans outside the stadium if I'm looking for food.

Sounds disappointing. Both my daughters are vegan as well so a pity nothing is on offer should they attend games in the future.

Club 72/Bar 72 - Last evening we were presented with the usual traditional football fare plus a choice of Shin of Beef with roasties, Chicken with gnocchi and, a Lamb curry. I did NOT try any of it.

 

At the Bar, they decided to, for the first time without notice to run cashless.

Our Club 1872 guys lamenting the loss of their wee steak pies at half time, not too amused with the downgraded bog standard Scotch pies.

Disappointing but not surprising. A greasy chip van outside the ground can produce better fare that a massive multi million pound catering firm. Standard.

The wee steak pies were the best thing about Bar72.  🤣

Football fans want real grub things like a roll and square sliced or roll and bacon  pie and peas pie and gravy a birdie or maybe a rowie with jam on it .

Usually receive a delivery of them in the Enclosure with about 15 minutes to go, not sure it's worth the old codger struggling round the ground with dome scotch ones.

That makes it even more disappointing.
