Our fitness, conditioning and medical department has been atrocious, which has led to injuries. Even the perma-crocks played more under SG than they have under GvB. (Soutar is the only new signing with a known injury record.)

If we can reach a EL final, then we can certainly compete in the CL. That doesn't mean we win every game, merely put up a fight. Of course the team is good enough for that. Celtic got humilated in the EL and then the Conference, but they still put up a better fight than we did.

There is a colossal gulf between the EL and the top teams in the CL

We pumped Dortmund and Liepzig, and took Frankfurt to a penalty shoot-out. All three are CL teams.

We should be competing.

That doesn't mean win - our group was very tough, but the capitulations were embarrassing. GvB is at fault.

I can accept defeat as long as we put up a show

I think they'll return to better form too, as will Kamara.

I think it's very likely the entire squad will benefit from this change. It's been obvious the players had lost faith in Gio and no manager can succeed without the players on board. Hopefully the clouds will lift now.

Could well be the reason he moved from Villa as he might not have been getting listened to at subs.

Very true, or he seen what was coming and jumped ship at a very good offer to go on his own. All pure guesswork of course, but it seems we don’t have long to wait till we find out, like it or not!

I'm watching Canada out-play Croatia - after out-playing Belgium - with a team that includes a 36-year-old, a 39-year-old and a bunch of nobodies.

How on earth do they compete against such a gulf?!

Belgium who were beaten today by Morocco? Oh and Canada are hardly outplaying Coratia.
