I hope they sold him to a really good league.

He deserves a proper quality league.

Botswana Premier League perhaps?

Wow. One of the comments is Kenny McLean is twice the player. Kenny McLean is garbage. If he is twice the player then Dowell must be bad 😂

Exactly, and remember, this is Norwich, not exactly staggering heights.

Norwich is the quintessential porpoise club.

Up to the EPL...down to the Champ...up to the EPL...down again.

It is the same with Union over here in Berlin. Players can be good or bad elsewhere, but in a new club everything starts from scratch. Since Der Berliner invited me in here, I have seen about 10 to 15 games. Vera different to what we see here in the Bundesliga, but you do need real strikers or attackers that can score. Far too few shots are actually dangerous.

God knows we've seen plenty Ibrox flops go on to be successes elsewhere.

Norwich fans had similar opinions on Cantwell, and he's undoubtably been our best, and most consistent player since he came in.

We really are in deep trouble if we're assessing possible signings on the basis of what Norwich fans say about them.

First off, you gotta read what the fans are sayin.

I warned you all about Davies last year.

The FANS KNOW BEST.

Norwich Fans On Dowell;

"none of the drive, ruthlessness and determination to take a game by the scruff of the neck and dominate."

"It's not like he's not trying, but I for one would be happy to see him moved on."

"If Cantwell had 2-3 years left on his contract, I do wonder if he'd be getting the nod ahead of Dowell. "

"If were dependent on Dowell I would be worried but we are not. "

I’ve been chatting with my Norwich supporting friend and he had this to say when I first spoke a few days back: Very good on his day, one of those attacking players who appears a bit of a passenger a lot of the time but then produces numbers when it matters, goals and assists. Whenever he’s had a run in the team he’s become one of our most important players. The problem is that it’s a rarity as he’s absent through injury a lot.”

Then when I said the rumour is that we’ve signed him: “bit gutting actually as he is one we want to keep”

So a different viewpoint, and not coming from message boards.

I'm dismayed when I see that we may be signing Kieran Dowell. If that's the level of our aspirations then I'd much rather we gave a chance to our own youths - Lowrie for one. Bigger clubs than us have no hesitation in throwing youngsters in  - and they all need to keep winning. Barca fielded a 15 year old the other day.

Barca are also pretty much guaranteed to win La Liga this season.  Very easy to give game time to youngsters when little is on the line.  And the youngster you referenced, came on with 7 minutes left with the scoreline 4-0 to Barca...... so I am not sure the "no hesitation" argument is on solid foundations.  If they had "no hesitation" then why didnt they start him ?  He also plays in a position where he is unlikely to cost them goals at the back and, at 4-0 up, they didnt need to score more either.  Red herring for me.

Reminds me of everyone bemoaning when Celtic were bringing youngsters through.... they only ever really did it in seasons when we were out the league and when they were assured of winning the league by 25+ points.

No, they don't.  "The fans know best" is absolute nonsense.

O Reilly for them came from League One and has done pretty well.  You can get absolute gems from lower leagues.  The Championship should have even better players, and them being a yo-yo club is almost irrelevant when talking from EPL to Champ.  We got Aribo from League One Charlton.

Crapping on a team because they yo-yo is pointless... plus, Norwirch almost always have the lowest budget of any EPL team when they are there - so yo-yo is pretty much expected.

They have also brought through the best player of all time arguably and a whole host of generational talents often. Not sure you can compare that with a Gregor, Hutton and Charlie Adam.

There is a player in Davies, but for the price we paid, it needs to be far better than the player we have witnessed.

Was a really lazy signing imo.

we had Goldson, just signed Soutter, James Sands was someone the management had confidence at the time and our best young player is a centre back. If you are signing a CB last summer you go for a Bassey profile type player.
