I was hoping we might finally break the lazy habit of appointing unproven managerial experiments and serial failures. Is it asking too much, just for once, to opt for someone who can prove they know what they're doing.

 

I suppose if you really think Gerrard did well with his one trophy in three years then Lampard might have an outside chance of matching it.

The reality is there is no queue of top drawer managers in Edmonton drive waiting to be interviewed for the job.

Whoever gets it has a very difficult task ahead of them with no money to spend & a squad with half a dozen poor signings in it from the summer who will need to be moved on
