Danny 0 Posted July 9, 2006 Share Posted July 9, 2006 Brazil overrall were disappointing along with England and the Czech Republic failed to live up to early promise though alot of that is down to the injury of Koller It's singularly down to that. With Koller in tow they would have made the latter stages if not the final. He's not the greatest striker but they need him for their system. Most surprising team of the tournament, for me, is Australia. I cant imagine many people predicting they would finish above Croatia and Japan and then almost take Italy to penalties in the 2nd round. Aye, Australia were quite impressive. As were Ghana - did very well indeed. He just doesn't light up matches the way a player of his reputation should. He's supposed to be the pinnacle of German football, an iconic player. He doesn't come close imo. And as for Zlatan, well his ass is unable to cash the cheques his great gob comes up with. He thinks he's brilliant. During the WC he was anything but. I'd be fine with his arrogance if he could show it on the pitch. I wouldn't say any one superstar has had a brilliant world cup. You have a fair point there. There have been a lot of let downs in this world cup. ballack is a world class player and one who i for one will be more than happy paying my season ticket money to go and watch him next season. Looking at the first post in the thread it said past or present. For me the biggest over rated player has to be Michael Owen.
