I think the lesson for today is not to jump to conclusions. It may still turn out to be Russell Martin, but better to await the official announcement. However, if it is a straight fight between DA and RM, they're a much of a muchness for me.

Said above, Martins style is very similar to Rodgers style. That would suggest its suited to domestic games but may lead to some tonkings in Europe.

The fact that Leicester have not announced RM as manager seems to me that’s he’s still in with a chance with us. Bit like Eddie Howe and them, only in reverse.

The thing is, 2 "ITK" posters posted on the same day that they had heard who the new manager was going to be. One posted it was DA and almost every poster jumped on that bandwagon. Another said it was Martin and everyone ignored him as Martin wasn't the name they wanted to hear. I think most of the irrational reaction is down to this, they convinced themselves that DA was the only man for the job, despite having no managerial experience. Neither really excite me, and I'd habe had the same reaction no matter which one finally got the job. It may still not be Martin.

Maybe, those responsible for the making of the TIFOs meet with the fan representative of the club before creating these things, have a look and talk about it, so club and ULTRAs don't end up with arguments etc.. Aside from SFA/SPFL/UN/Scottish Minister/WWF going ballistic ...

... at the end of the day, he (the new Rangers manager, that is), will be measured by his results on the field of play, at the end of each competition he is involved in. Anyone will get the benefit of the doubt, and we will have to see what sort of players will arrive too. Better to keep the excitement levels at a sane level, so the disappointment won't be that big, while the elation might go through the roof.

Winning the Europa League would've been something else, Gio would've been an instant Rangers legend. But aye, comes a point we need to be geared domestically, even if it means not getting as far in Europe.

I think Martin will be fine domestically but may struggle in Europe, the exact opposite of what's happened over the last 5 or so years. And crucially, exactly what we need at the moment.

Martin's style of football is very similar to Brendan Rodgers style. Hiss "win ratio" is also similar to Rodgers' at Watford, Reading and Swansea. Not who I wanted but not as bad an appointment as some are making out (and he's not even been appointed yet).

This'll save me £60 on a new stick (for away games), at least. 🤣
