Jefte to Rangers transfer 'confirmed' as key details emerge and signing double nears The 21-year-old looked set for a move to Ibrox in January but it was protracted. Now it seems they will land their man. Brazilian rising star Jefte’s move to Ibrox is now a done deal with the full back set to officially become a Rangers player in July, according to a report in Brazil. Philippe Clement is on the hunt for a left back with Borna Barisic set to end his six-year stay in Scotland when his contact expires. Rangers had agreed a deal for the 20-year-old South American during the January transfer window but it was complicated due to the fact he was on loan to APOEL Nicosia from Fluminese who failed to rubber stamp the move. The Cypriots wanted to sign the player permanently but have failed to agree terms with the player and now he will become a Rangers player. A Fluminese media channel reports: "Despite Apoel's interest in keeping the player, Jefte will be a player for Rangers, in Scotland, from July onwards. Deal confirmed." Jefte is likely to follow Panama defender Jose Cordoba with Rangers agreeing a deal with Levski Sofia. The Light Blues have agreed personal terms with the Panama international and are expected to thrash out a fee with Sofia. Reports in Bulgaria have claimed that the fee could be around £3.2m but that would include future add-ons that are built into the transfer. The initial upfront deal is likely to be closer to £2 million.

Cantwell has a problem with positional discipline? It is his job to be the creative driving force, and he's doing much of that in our team. Our deep-rooted problems lie in the fact that more often than not our centre-halfs are those playing the balls around and to the front, our DMs, who are supposed to do that, are typically all over the place and playing pointless one-twos with the defenders. And lo and behold, our attackers get slaughtered because they have not much productive support (in terms of assists, goals, pressing) from the back, but are supposed to run rings around packed defences. As long as we don't cut this six-man defensive men rubbish week in and week out, we won't go anywhere in Scotland in terms of trophies and titles. Thus, we're a blunt force, though this season mostly because of a ridiculous amount of injuries to our main attackers too.

Get a young right back out there. Need to protect Tavernier for next season.

I don't think a cup final against that lot is the right time to be throwing young lads into the starting XI. We need to sort out the midfield and cut out the errors at the back. Unfortunately, I don't think either of these things will happen.

He's a good shot-stopper that will do a job when called upon. McCrorie will seek more game time, which is understandable.

Bit of an exaggeration. Generally, only one DM comes back, with Tav and/or Barisic further up the park too. So, most of the time, there's only three or four at the back.

Depends on their financial situation, Serie B is a big drop and they don't get anything like the parachute payments the EPL give. Maybe £4- £5m might secure his services?

Feels like our defensive form fell off a cliff when Goldsons form dropped and we have spiraled away from there. Happened the CL season too when he got injured. Needs changed.

Kiteishvili is a lot better defensively as a CAM than Cantwell looking at the radars. It would be a free signing, you'd think one of Cantwell or Lawrence would be sold if he does come in.
