  1. I seen the article proclaiming the departure of the latest incumbant and my first thought was there will be a new 26th post in the PQ thread coming soon!! Like you and no doubt most who observe this thread, I have absolutely no doubt that the incoming replacement will almost certainly be of Irish descent, with Timmy leanings. No other candidates will be considered worthy, and Rangers supporters will see no change in coverage or balance.

  2. Steve is Joe the Toff. BBC Scotland's Heid Bummer, Steve Carson has announced he is stepping down and is off to pastures new in Dublin. The Irishman has spent 11 years at Pacific Quay, the last four as Director. He prefers the role of RTE's Director of Video which I am sure will please his wife, Miriam O'Callaghan who shuttles between the BBC(London) and RTE(Dublin). Steve highlights the professionalism of the PQ team and reminds us he commissioned the productions of Guilt and Rebus. Steve mentions the launch of BBC Scotland's satellite channel but omits the cancelation of it's flagship show, 'the Nine' because no one was viewing. Anyways, Steve is off to Dublin in a dream, in a dream and, BBC Scotland announced, "the search for Steve's successor starts immediately". The front runners are good friends of the show : Kevin McKenna, Chris McLaughlin, Angela Haggerty, Gerry Braiden, .................... When Peter decides, he will tell ra Sellik State of Mind and, Paul John Dykes will tell Claire Kelly. we, the License Fee payers will find out the successor when RAB Cosgrove utters, 'I know him/her well and I like him/her a lot'.

  3. Even if you take Goldson out of the frame, with the rest i'd guess: Lawrence 25k Dowell 15k Matondo 25k Davies 25K Wright 5k Lammers 20k That's 115k per week approx on guys who wont / cant contribute. Not to mention the risk we are taking going into another year with Yilmaz as first choice left back, i'd liked to have seen him move on too.

  4. I see that agent supposed leaked message shows Cantwell at 8.5M Euros, that is a decent starting price as long as we get add-ons. We must stop thinking of our players values (not you personally per se) in terms of how they have performed with us, but more in terms of what teams are willing to pay. Do you think for a moment any fan of Dessers previous club thought he was worth £3M or whatever it was reported we paid? Not a chance but there is always some mug out there with deepish pockets willing to pay to get a profile in. This is the way the bheasts have supposedly done it for years, getting way over the odds (allbeit with media help to inflate prices) for players they dont want anymore. This has to be the model for us. We should not be happy with £3.5M for Lammers, he was Dutch top league scorer FFS, anyone looking at that from England would start bidding at £20M!!

  5. Evening Times can give the Rhebel a run for its money most of the time. What used to be a good balanced paper with pro-Rangers and pro-timmy pages is now much less balanced as well as a massive deterioration in quality. The Herald has always been a timmy rhag. H&H and SC need to do what they need to do to earn a living now they are exclusively in the media business, but they need to be aware that by going onto a Herald/Times production they are damaging their own reputation by association. I will continue to avoid methinks.

  6. Aye that's fair. I'm encouraged by the fact that there's a clear strategy in place this window tbf.

  7. Given how poor our last few transfer windows have been, fans have no confidence in the club to deliver on or off the park. Whether its transfers, construction projects, medical department or games v the rotten mob we have a track record of failure. I don't think any supporter can be blamed for being negative. The club has given very little cause for optimism recently, other than hiring Clement.

  8. No its part of the Newsquest Evening times / Herald group. 100% not fan media correct. If its good enough for some of the H&H guys and Stevie Clifford to go on (granted they are probably paid) its ok by me.

  9. Agreed, you've got to imagine that between the below, just off the top of my head, theres the better part of £100,000+ / week being spent on wages... Lawrence Dowell Matondo Goldson Davies Wright

  10. Been to Berlin a few times, and agree, East is far more interesting. First time I went was a drinking weekend, stayed in a hostel boat on the Spree, which was superb. There was a chuck wagon close by that did excellent curry wurst, which I saw in the best street food in Germany guide in Observer food monthly a while later as best currywurst in Germany!. Went back a couple of times with the wife, tbh it's wasted as a drinking destination (as most places are) and I enjoyed it far more seeing the many, many interesting places. Enjoy Gonzo.

  11. What would you take for Cantwell? I'd deal on 5m tbh. Especially if we got him for less than 2m.

  12. Also it is worth mentioning that with the policy we're pursuing in signing promising young talent - we might not be stronger in the short term but it is very much a long term vision for the team. We do need to supplement it with some good experience right enough.

  13. Aye I get that, but we've got 2 months of the window left. I'll happily come on this site and say it was a disaster if we don't shift 3 or 4 senior players and bring in 5 or 6 to improve the XI. If Koppen has sounded out players that may not be able to come in for whatever reason for the next few weeks, but believes they are key to our plan then have a little patience. Signing a dozen players and shifting a dozen more in the first couple of weeks of the summer has hardly ever been done successfully at the top level - maybe if you're a part time outfit or something. The only one I can think of really is Chelsea under Abramovich all those years ago. What I DON'T like is the noise around our business, which leads to speculation and the subsequent 'bed wetting'. I'd rather 0 leaks with no idea of what's happening than the constant tripe we see said about our club.

  14. I know they're only rumours and so theres potentially minimal truth in a lot of them, but it does seem like we're missing out on a lot of targets.... I hate that I'm getting drawn in by some of the rumours On the Kenny McLean deal though, while disappointing, I am happy to hear we're standing firm on getting a deal that suits Rangers

  15. Rangers review saying the Kenny McLean deal is off. Saying wants a longer deal than Rangers want to give.

  16. Would you prefer if they said," I wasn't really sure about coming here but my agent thought it would be good."

  17. Watching the Scotland team depart and then arrive in Germany I couldn’t help notice Shellik tops in the crowd. Have they ditched the ROI and now all support Scotland? ( or have the real Irish chased them? )
