  1. You mean it may not be a toxic omnishambles? 😀

  2. King’s great weakness was his propensity to litigate lost causes.

  3. Dave Kings time has come and gone mate. He's done great things for the club in the past but he's now just a rent a gob for the press - all he did was unnecessarily call out the board without talking to them in private, throwing grenades on talksport just isn't conducive to anything. I don't know Gilligan but he was right to call out King for airing the clubs dirty laundry on national radio - it's one reason why I wouldn't go back to King, the constant public rows was and is exhausting. Not listening to Gilligan because he's told King to stop launching quotes here there and everywhere isn't the hill to die on.

  6. Martin Bain didn't employ many during his time. I don't think it's a necessity as long as we are employing the right people in the right roles.

  7. Hopefully some daft club pick him up soon, so we don't have to endure endless rumours about him returning to Ibrox. He has been useless for a good couple of years and I very much doubt Clement will be remotely interested anyway.

  8. Koppen and Clement seem to have a far better idea of how to sort out the squad than the previous two management teams. Obviously, it's too early to really gauge that seriously but we've brought in some decent looking young players, whilst getting rid of a few past it high earners.

  9. All I'm saying is that the club are making positive noises about the changes made in relation to the catering aspect. The commercials of NEH will be interesting, assuming they are carved out and disclosed specifically. I don't think that is necessarily required though - I suspect its more likely the accounts will show the totality of commercial income and expenditure, rather than breaking it down to NEH.

  10. The accounts will no doubt reflect in part our relative lack of on-pitch success, our historic lack of ability to sell players on and manage the squad strategically to protect value and generate revenue via player trading... I suspect we will likely have traded at a loss last year, but accounts only reflect a true and fair view at a point in time, which for us is the 30th June. Since then our squad has gone through a significant change. Higher earners have mostly been moved on, and replaced with younger and cheaper players. The club has done a new shirt deal and is making positive noises about the new catering contracts, so commercially at least we appear to be incrementally improving our income base. So whatever negatives there may be, the Board will be seeking to balance that with a more optimistic future view. I'm reasonably confident therefore that we will be a long way off from being a considered a lost cause.

  14. Would King be any worse / better than the current incumbents? Does King really have investment and football people lined up? King may be yesterday's man, but on reflection, so are the current board. Neither King NOR the current incumbents are what we need to propel the club forward in the medium / long term. What we need is either, or both to make the correct decisions short-term for the medium / long term stability and growth. For me, King would be who I'd trust more, but it's unlikely to happen. We're at the stage both on and off the pitch that we ate simply hoping things are going to improve but with little or no evidence. 1 league title in 13 years, unless there is dramatic change, this is our future and it appears we are accepting consistent failure, downsizing and lowering of expectations. Hardly the Rangers way.

  15. Lol... if you take the CEO recruitment issue in isolation, then no... but the wider context of leadership at the club is still in question, to the point where Clement has been fronting up and dealing with off the field issues during pressers. That doesn't really fill us with confidence, no matter the nice words they all say about each other.
