Couldnt agree more Ian. Win as a team, lose as a team. Not enough effort until they realised the hinges were coming off their title challenge. Should never have taken that long to get out of first gear !

You might just WANT to miss the final day cotter.....

I actually dont doubt that BF is our best midfield player. Telling us that he is our best midfielder is one thing but unless he shows it in his play then he isnt and, this season at least, he hasnt shown where it matters, on the pitch. Yes, he is our best midfielder BUT.... and it is a big BUT.... you are only as good as your last game. I wouldn't say that BF has been our worst midfielder this season but he certainly hasnt been our best either. The only way to PROVE you are the best is to play like it. BF hasnt dominated any game that I can recall this season so, despite the obvious ability, surely he too hasnt performed to the required standard ? Do I think he deserved as much abuse as he gets ? No. Does he get more abuse relatively than the often unscathed Mendes and Davis ? Yes. Has he shown himself to be our best midfielder this season ? Not in my opinion.

Our best midfielders this season have been Edu & Thomson. Says a lot for the rest that neither of them played a half season..... Our midfield lacks creativity across the board - whether it be BF, Mendes, Davis, Edu, Thomson etc etc. Therein lies our problem, we have no creativity. I hoped Mendes would be the answer but he saunters through games with little effort and he seems the same type of player as BF (so hy spunk 3 mill on him in the first place ?). Our midfield is very poor - and yet we spent a TON of money on it last summer.

Quoting myself.... lovely. But if ever I needed evidence of the true mentality on how to get the job done then all you need to do is look at the two teams in Britain looking to edge themselves closer to a title this evening. Man U - 1-0 down and struggling, come back to score two late goals to win the game and virtually seal the title. Ranger - 1-0 down and struggling, come back to get a draw in a game which should have been won, huffed and puffed but just couldnt get over the finish line. Man U believe they will win even if losing with little time left. Rangers hope they will win regardless. Two very different mentalities IMO.

Agreed Frankie. The XI players that started the game should still have had enough to overcome a poor Hibs team. Their attitude and application for a team a mere 270 minutes from lifting the title was nothing short of appalling. I really do get the feeling that they believe they just have to show up to win. They never start high tempo and allow the opponents into the game. It is shocking. And the management need to take their share of responsibility for not instilling in them the need to get at a team from the outset.

We wont make up 2 goals. We have to assume that they will win their last two games, which they will, so we need to win 2-0 and 3-0 as they have also scored more goals than us. IMO the league was lost tonight. We HAD to win that game as the Tims would have been looking at it as potential lost points. Hibs wont have the same energy levels left for Saturday and will drop all 3 points to the Tims. We live in hope I guess, but I have just come to terms that our team just doesn't have the appropriate mentality to close things out.

Looks to me like it is just some banter. Looks like he is in a warmer clime (see the girl has short sleeved Celtic away top) and yet his Celtic shirt os over the top of a different clothing garment. He was probably trying to pull that young lass.

Wait till you see the punishment (IF ANY!) before making such a statement

Same here BD. I dont think I will watch it - will DVR it and watch it IF we win. I think this is our most crucial game of the 3 (not that any of them aren't crucial) but a win tonight will put us back top but, as importantly, we then have a HOME game against the Sheep whilst they have a somewhat tricky away game to Hibs. I still can see them dropping points at Easter Road but if we don't win tonight then they will have all the incentive they need to go there and dig out 3 points. If we win tonight, then beat the sheep then Celtic have TONS of pressure on to keep the title race alive. If we don't win tonight then, IMO, the momentum swings their way. MON THE GERS.

I think he also needs to be given some slack as he is by no means a left midfielder. It is plain for all to see that when confronted with an opponent he looks to pass the ball off rather than take a player on. He isn't a flair player who will beat a man. So at LM he will struggle to do a job with the ball played into his feet where he is then expected to beat a player. Where he COULD excel as a LM is by using his pace to get behind the opponent and racing onto a nice through ball from our CM's - he then beats the opponent with his pace rather than skill - and his crossing is very decent. But that requires 1) a CM who has the vision to play that through ball (Mendes has the ability but so often doesnt use it and 2) a manager who actually WANTS Stevie Smith to get forward. I reckon that Stevie Smith was told by WS not to venture too far forward on Saturday and simply to nullify the threat of Nakamura. And if that is what WS told Stevie Smith then it was job well done, because Nakamura, as per usual, was mince.

I guess so...... it would appear his support is only for the political wing.... but would that not have been Sinn Fein ?
-
I am exactly the same. I don't know if it is an inherent belief that we won't win the league or deliberately setting myself up for the fall now that we are so close. WS, AM and KM should be hammering it home to these guys that 270 minutes defines our season and they should be leaving NOTHING on the pitch in that time.

I sure hope that my review of the sheep game is a potential league winner........

"The flag has no reference to any terrorist organisation"..... WTF ???

Nice one Gav.....
-
It is actually 21 out of 69 points. They won 3 games and drew 12, losing 8.
-
haha, that is pretty funny. He got it right for the most part so he obviously has been listening !
-
Nolan was offside for Martins' goal ! Cracking strike from Lovenkrands
-
Caldwells was only a yellow in my opinion. As Gav says he wasnt high, just late. Not a sending off for me. Loovens - different matter, he should have walked, it was assault.

"Portrait of a Genius" or "Fraud of a Genius" ?

Too right my man..... my 4 yr old is sick of me saying to him today "Aaron.... who won this morning" - His reponse "Rangers" - my response "YASSSSSSSSSSSSSS, come on the Rangers !!!!!!!" He thinks I am a loon..... I happen to not care. COME ON THE TEDDY BEARS !!!!!
-
lets not get over excited though lads.... still 3 games left.
-
Agreed, Nakamura would be no better than a League 1 player but for his free-kicks. The way the mhedia fawn over him is sickening. He is pish. End of.
