At least we dont need to worry about WS picking him for the OF game on the 15th......
-
why is it we cant sell players like Charlie Adam and can only get rid of them on loan.
-
Dean Shiels........ Has signed for Doncaster - oh well........
-
Here's hoping. With the emergence of Fleck and return to fitness of Naismith we don't need Adam.
-
Off on his holidays ? Collecting family that are returning from holidays ?

Is this the same source that 30 mins ago said no-one would leave ? Fee ?

So..... Cardiff bid 3 mill for Fletcher. He has scored 38 goals in 143 appearance. We accept a 3.8 mill bif for Boyd (where we pocket about 3 mill) and his goals to games ratio is far higher than Fletcher's. Age wise they are only a couple of years apart..... Seems to me that the only sale we should be making this transfer window is Bain.

The red card was a ridiculous decision by the ref. Changed the game. Bosingwa should have walked for that kick on the back. Torres = class.

I still wouldnt be surprised to see us play 4-4-2. We have played better than them in both games this season with a 4-4-2

Just keep it respectful guys

Hopefully it will be McGregor.... replacement for Given ????

No chance of Edu playing Gribz. If WS goes with a holding midfielder it will be McCulloch Sorry but the notion of playing Edu rather than Ferguson in a crucial OF game is craziness. BF may not be playing well but I would rather have him given he is tried and tested than playing Edu who could easily be overcome by the occasion.

You mean EX international striker surely ? :fish:
-
Miller had the luxury of having a very on-form Cousin playing beside him at Parkhead. You think he would be as effective with Lafferty ? Sorry Gribz but your disapproval of Boyd is clouding your judgement. You would prefer we played Miller up top against Celtic rather then Boyd because Boyd doesn't score against Celtic ? Miller has gone 9 games now without scoring - so you want him to be our main goal threat ? I am sure Celtic would be shiteing themselves at the thought
-
Not to try to take the shine off it but I would be VERY disappointed in an international striker if he DIDN'T slot that away. I would be pretty confident that I would have scored that. He was only about 25 yards out and the keeper was in no mans land and really only had one player to stick the ball past. Pleased he scored it but "composure" and "cool manner" should be expected of a pro striker in that situation.

Utter, utter pish talk. It was DEFINITELY a penalty. Fleck did a professional job in drawing the challenge and getting the ball away from it. Levein is a The more of this pish talk I hear from him the less I would want to see him as manager - and I am one of the ones that thinks he would do a decent job.
-
I hope that was said in hopes he proves you wrong momentarily to score the clinching goal.
-
I uold have agreed with you prior to this season WTD - but I actually think that Fletcher has been one of Man U's better players this season. Certainly early in the season his goal rate for a midfielder was very good and he got himself into some very handy goalscoring positions. I would fear them more with Darren Fletcher than I do with Steven Fletcher.
-
The only difference being that they seem to actually sign the decent ones and also use them. Robson has done well for them and Flood is a decent wee player. Of course, they did sign Killen and Riordan too......
-
I agree with you, if Robinho HAS done it then throw the book at the guy. If he hasnt..... throw the book at the accuser who has tried to ruin his life. But that is the rub - they probably would throw the book at him if he is found guilty - but if not found guilty the accuser will likely get a slap on the wrists and a book deal out of it. The way of the world these days is ridiculous !

I dont think it is as simplistic as that Cal. I would presume that if the banks want us to stay within their creidt limit then it is a matter of not further increasing it. That doesn't necessarily equate to 3M in losses but rather that we have cash commitments of 3M which, if we dont find the 3M cash, would push us over the credit facility limit. It doesn't necessarily equate to a loss but most probably is cashflow related (simplistically, cash is king which is what the banks are likely saying - but a profit and loss account includes non cash items too which skews things from that perspective). Sorry, accountant guff. IMO either they didnt foresee the credit crunch or they were too arrogant to believe it would seriously impact on the club. Either way it looks to the layman like poor management. I am not sure I agree about the "CL chickens" - but only because we went on our major spending spree AFTER we were OUT of the CL. Seems to me that there was a level of arrogance that it wouldnt affect us. We have debated this extensively but I couldn't agree more. Just looking at just those players you have the following : Miller - 2M - we already had Novo and on less wages who could undertake the same job (if the other night is anything to go by, Novo is a better option even for running the channels). Lafferty - 3.5M - cant get a game up front so is put LM where he has been terrible. LM we already had Adam and McCulloch (not that I am suggesting that either of those two should be there but to then also buy someone who is a striker and play him LM is nothing short of financial mismanagement) Edu - 2.5M - how many CM's do we need ? Not getting a game and was signed because he was recommended. Not convinced he will become a mainstay. Velicka - 1M - not even quoted for a game. Waste of money. SO when you lok at the above NOT ONE of them was needed. So 9M wasted. Why not buy 2 players at 3M who could improve the 1st team and then keep the rest of the cash in the bank ? Agreed. But even then, did we really need to buy Davis if we were going to play him RM ? We already had Thomson, BF, Hemdani and then Mendes too (if Davis was purchased first then swap his name for Mendes). Again, buying a player for the sake of it and not because it was a necessity. It is difficult to do this but we should have been focussing solely on the positions which were CRITICAL and, simultaneously, hawking the deadwood (if anyone would take them). We got caught with our pants down because we made all these purchases and then couldn't move the deadwood on and the increase in wages will be crippling. I am, however, quite pleased to hear that we will (eventually, when we lose the deadwood through either giving them away, paying off their contract or letting their contract expire......) that we will be using a squad of 20 and augment it with youngsters. I believe this is the way to go.

Not only that SDM would have been aware.... EVERYONE should have been aware. Almost always the UK follows the US and we all know that the crisis had already hit the US in almost unprecedented ways. If SDM looked at the US (which he should have been doing with his other global businesses anyway) he would see that there was a solid chance that the UK would suffer to some extent too.

Why would you be surprised by Gav's comment ? At the end of the day the police are there to keep an open mind and work from FACTS. What Gav says is absolutely right. There is as much chance that these girls are lying as there is that they are telling the truth. And because of that the Police have to start by assuming nothing. So Gav's comment is just fine, at least in my eyes. The whole point I was making is exactly what you said after that - which is that it could be EITHER way. Just because it is a sensitive subject doesn't mean that we shouldn't consider all the possibilities and just assume that as it is a "sick" crime that it must have been perpetrated. I don't think it really should come down to how strongly you believe. At the end of the day you have folks who have been through it and have first hand experience. That doesn't mean that their "experience" can necessarily give a guide as to what happened here. None of us know so there is no way of knowing what actually did happen. That was the point. Sick crime, yes. Did Robinho do it ? Who knows. Did the girl egg him on ? Who knows.
