To be fair, WS didnt sign Hemdani and IIRC Hemdani hasnt been given an extension or pay raise since WS came in. WS hasn't played him but the team should be selected on ability to contribute, not on their salary. The wages meted out to players is incredible and we have far too many being paid considerable sums but not contributing nor getting the chance to - but the contracts are Bain's domain, no ? I rest my case......

I wish Murray would chase out the current encumbent too !!!
-
According to MIlan's own TV station they are now considering selling. The fee ? a whopping 107 million quid (120 million Euro) ! If Kaka agrees to the switch he would recieve an incredible 31 million quid (35 million Euro) - and I think that is just a signing-on fee......... LUDICROUS !
-
If we only need 3 million and we have an offer of 4 million for Bougherra and Ferguson - I would have no hesitation in keeping Bougherra and letting Ferguson go. He is past his best and taking 30k a week in wages - he also isnt an effective Captain - I would rather we kept Bougherra !

2 months ago I would have agreed with you Wija, but Boyd's link up play has improved no end in the last few weeks. His first touch is much better, he shields the ball and, for the first time in his career, he is looking at laying it off to team-mates. The sad thing is that he is having to do it because he is having to drop so deep to get a sniff of the ball (as we either lump it up the park which bounces back to midfield or our midfield just arent providing any service). I think that Boyd's link-up play and holding of the ball is much better recently.

January Competition - Win a Copy of 'The Rangers Miscellany'
craig replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
All, Please remember to PM your answer to Frankie as opposed to posting it in here. -
It certainly wont do us any harm though - or are you a believer that it is better to keep your mouth shut ? The very future of our club could be at stake yet you wish we would bury our heads ?
-
Am sure someone will have got a picture of it and will post for all to see. At least there is a sign that not everyone is content withi his "leadership". It is a start, even if a small one.

I think it was Gordon Waddell that had an article in the Sunday Mail yesterday saying that McGregor would be his first to go as e is easiest replaced. Exactly my way of thinking when this first broke. I still say McGregor should be first and that BF should go befor either Bougherra or Boyd. Surely..... surely..... if all we need is 3 million and that the club is on a good financial footing, Murray could loan the club the 3 million and then look to sell someone at the end of the season if things dont pick up ?????
-
Not an exclusive then....... yet !
-
Would be nice - but then it also leaves us wondering and fearing who WILL be sold.
-
Not a bad team... and we would have money to spend on over-inflated wages
-
But who is to blame for us NOT spending that 5 or 6 million ? I bet that SDM was a large part of it ! WS has definitely made some poor signings and has spent money he needn't have spent (just look at Velicka, Edu, Lafferty - 7 million for little return thus far) but SDM is as culpable in that as WS is. As for the long term mismanagement of the club then that is squarely at SDM's door. I don't think WS deserves a free ride, far from it - but the roots to our problems go far deeper than WS and his transfer dealings.
-
Look on the bright side - his predecessor is doing OK at PSG...... (where is that hangman smiley ?)
-
Lets just say you are very close to owing me a tenner Fee agreed, Boyd will travel for a medical tonight and discuss personal terms (which shouldnt be a problem as he likely will get an increase). Virtually a done deal.
-
Rangers might not be around for it to make a difference !
-
So not only is SDM and the management financially ruining the club but also taking one of those pillars we once built our club on, being a "family club". No longer. Depressing times indeed.

You Just Couldn't Make This Up - Lafferty Out Injured
craig replied to CammyF's topic in Rangers Chat
4-5-1 it is. KM spearheading the attack and no other consistent scorers on the pitch.... 1-0 wins would work.... if only we could keep a clean sheet !! -
Inclined to agree Mike. We may actually get more balance having Mendes and Davis in the middle. But we could yet see the departure of BF anyway.......
-
Left - Aaron - but we still have Beasley, Adam, Naismith can do a turn there too. Right - Novo, Burke if we dont get shot or, dare I say it, Whittaker......
-
A mess indeed Mike. I am thinking about not following football at all.......
-
But here is the rub..... what can they do ? Not renew season tickets ? Another nail in the coffin. SDM wants to go and no-one wants to buy. We really ARE in the shit.
-
I 100% agree Cammy that even 2 lost players makes our team even more ordinary that it already is. But it looks like we MUST lose at least one player. I am not convinced that of our saleable assets that Boyd is the most appropriate. I happen to think that this WILL be a watershed. The information in the press is that we are in a financial mire - and if that doesn't wake us up the way it woke the Tims up in the 90's then OUR club is doomed.
-
I think perhaps with that post I didn't clarify what I was really getting at. I don't want to sell Mendes, Bougherra, Boyd et al. But if it were me running the club (we can ALL be thankful I am not) I would be looking at who we could lose with least effect on the 1st team. I just don't see where the goalscoring contribution comes from if we lose Boyd. It isnt about who I would like to see sold (the only player I wouldn't be too upset seeing sold is McGregor, and BF if the fee is right) but rather about the mismanagement of the club - it seems that they havent even thought about it. And, to me at least, it looks like they havent truly evaluated the squad and where they could lose a player or two with least resistance.
