  1. Is Boyd even eligible for YOUNG player of the month ? Aluko is a good player - gave our defence a torrid time at Ibrox a few weeks ago.
  2. I can't comment as I wasn't there Shroomz - was merely suggesting she could have got her point across in a more tactful manner - but also that we would all expect our other halves to back us up (again though, one would hope that it would be done tactfully).
  3. To be honest I would think that any of us would expect our respective other halves to stand up for us should we come in for criticism. However, that said, it wasn't that the old boy was being personal. Perhaps a better response from her would have been "he is trying his best - it isnlt like he is trying to let the ball in". The age thing shouldn't matter. OAP's do deserve respect but in order to gain respect you probably should also show respect.
  4. I agree Barry - for me the only thing that should count is performance - and his performances haven't been up to the standard required. Deserves to be dropped. Look at Goram - he was a partier and had more off-field troubles than McGregor - the difference being that Goram invariably performed fantastically well on the pitch when it mattered. That is the only thing that should really count.
  5. He did bring Hateley back and play him CB so you are right, there are many many options for the replacement. Actually, given he is playing 4CB's anyway perhaps we have plenty of cover should Bougherra leave. Still wouldn't want to see a CB pairing of Broadfoot and Papac though....
  6. Our problem if we let him go is who do we replace him with ? It would likely be Broadfoot but if Weir or Broadfoot get injured who do we end up with then ?
  7. I disagree, I think the flight of the ball did change.
  8. Put a smile on yer face Victor
  9. You were on the merrydown
  10. But there is the problem. Goram performed to an incredibly high standard even when being a "jack the lad". McGregor, on the other hand, seems to have went backwards since becoming "jack the lad". I know what you are saying about not caring what happens off the park but if off the park activities negatively affect your on the park performances then we HAVE to be concerned. Goram was a legend but I dont think he would be the guiding influence on McGregor that you seem to think he would.
  11. Ya lying bassa  He came on after 30 mins and was subbed a minute before the end - that is about an hour.....
  12. Someone set big Edu up - poor bastard !
  13. I dont disagree with anything you say JB.
  14. Hope they get pumped..... just kidding Jon. Who else do you have ?
  15. That is hilarious !!
  16. Bassas !!!
  17. Regardless of whether Burke picked up POTY he has had ample opportunities to prove himself and hasnt really done it. IIRC he won POTY when in the final year of his contract and playing for a new one. Coincidence ? Not when you look at his performances since he got that contract. Naismith hardly got going before he got injured yet he is the one who is being questioned ??? Daniel Cousin deserved the boos IMO. Hutton suffered a bad run of form and became the latest boo boy but showed that you can come through it. Broadfoot doesnt deserve it IMO but he too seems to have come through the worst of it. What has Chris Burke done to come through the boos ? Nothing. He isnt one of the problems ? Of course he is - he shows little interest when in the team (which has been limited of late to be fair) and quickly becomes disinterested. You say there are too many with influence and not enough contribution - just what CONTRIBUTION has Burke provided since he got that nice new contract ?? I say this as someone who actually rates Burke - but he doesnt put enough effort and passion into his performances.
  18. Half an hour gone.... could the refs not just blow the FT whistle......
  19. Arsenal Chelsea Newcastle Birmingham
  20. You are right Gribz but the problem is not even necessarily us picking up points - it is the fact that THEY dont look like dropping points. That is our problem - like it or not they have consistently picked up points even when not playing well. They go out expecting to win whilst we go out hoping to win. All it takes though is them to draw or lose one game and us to win all the way into the OF game and it is still game on. But we simply cannot drop anymore points.
  21. Yeah, he was on loan at PSG - the reason we signed him was because he played so well against us, ala Cuellar.
  22. cheers Ian
  23. Did you not post this same article last week Ian ?
  24. Personally I was very disappointed too. We got to the final and that, in itself, was a great achievement. To go out and try to win it with some open football would have been great. That said, I still can see the approach taken as it was one which saw us dispose of some decent teams in the previous rounds (regardless of the brand of football).
  25. And look at some of the quality THEY had in their team !!
