    Team for Sunday

Much as though I would like to see it I highly doubt WS will go with Edu on Sunday. He will stick with Broadfoot.
  3. Remember it well, was when he played with Spurs !! Pat Jennings was my hero when I was a kid. Went to the official POTY awards for Arsenal (funnily enough held at TOTTENHAM Court Road). Got my photo taken with him and the guy has hands like shovels.
  4. He should have been booked for that !!

My concern over Boradfoot is the manner in which he was taken to the cleaners by Mcgeady in a couple of games last season. Would Whittaker fare better ? I don't know. Would Dailly ? Definitely not IMO. I am not concerned about the game to be honest - they are not a good team so we have nothing to fear.

Not sure I would go with Lafferty - if fit then why not, he wouldn't do worse than any of our other strikers as the lone front man. The thing about our squad now is that : 1. WS strengthened the strikeforce first when other areas needed strengthened before it. 2. Now that he has strengthened the midfield the strikeforce is the one area that is lacking a different type of player. I still feel that we spent 2 mill on Miller that wasn't needed when we had a VERY similar player in Novo there with the exception Novo is a better finisher That 2 mill could have been spent on a forward who can lead the line well when we play one up top. The way I see it is we have the strikers there to give us 2 up front and also to rotate them, but we don't have a striker to play up front alone (Cousin can, but I doubt he will play for us again). Lafferty could be that player but hasnt had the chance and I am not convinced away to THEM would be the appropriate time to go for it. 1. Boyd or Velicka 2. Novo or JCD or Miller You can take either striker from 1 and pair with a striker from 2 and it has the potential to work. But when I look at all 5 of them I don't see ANY who I would really like to see playing the lone striker role (JCD would be my choice IF he could last a game !). We should have saved the money from Miller and used it on either a CB or a DIFFERENT TYPE of striker (I am not having a go at KM, but more at WS for purchasing someone who I just don't think we needed, regardless of (in)ability)

    Welcome Thread

Welcome aboard lazyscot. We are sorted for timezones now...... Gribz in Singapore Most folks in UK Me in Bermuda You in Vancouver We pretty much have the spread of timezones !
  8. Where is Donald Findlay when you need him ?
  9. Aye, we noticed when you came on tooting your horn about being on the telly......
  10. Who else would WS ask about the player other than the player's manager of the moment ? The guy only came out of college last year so has only had one club manager so I would think that the obvious person to ask would be the person that has watched him train and play since he came out of college. He has 6 caps for the US so the national manager won't have seen a great deal of him either. WS can do no right in some fans eyes, despite the obvious (not a go at you Gav, just that WS takes some unfair criticism at times - sometimes it IS fair but I dont think in this regard it could be considered as such).
  11. that was pretty funny actually - hit the post, hit the bar, keeper flaps..... all in a 20 second spell.
  12. Man City are pumping them.....
  13. Aaron - trained with the squad for a week, not up to fitness. Beasley - off the back of a very long journey from international duty - only arrived Friday, unlikely to start and that happens with many teams. Adam - tbh I would rather have Kenny Miller LM than him. McCulloch - been playing awful and we have been shouting for him to be dropped for ages - he gets dropped and then we want him in the team just because it is his natural position ? Fleck - IMO he is the only one that would have been in with a shout of starting - but we know WS won't start a youngster and especially not somewhere as volatile as Pittodrie. Sorry but the options we had weren't played for a number of valid reasons (with perhaps the exception of Fleck and Adam) IMO.
  14. Nobody bit because none of us had a clue what you were on about S_A - I actually thought you were making random Gribz-style drunken posts :fish:
  15. You need to take this a stage further and state that Celtic have 7 points instead of 4 (the pen in 1st game and then the non-pen against Utd) - and there was even a call of handball yesterday when at 0-0 and you never know how it would have finished but for the ref giving that goal. So after just 3 games, thanks to officials, we are effectively 5 points behind Celtic - and that WILL be the difference in the league if things dont even themselves out !
  16. And I had the distinct displeasure to be at that game.... I DID buy you a program Gav but it got left in a strip club....
  17. Aye, sounds like a riveting night there Jon boy - lighting it up tonight....... As Lauren says, some of us have better things to do than just hang out on Gersnet all Saturday night ! Aye, Liverpool picked up the points today, well done them and those are the games that are needed to be won. I didnt see much of the Arsenal game as I was out with the family, were they pish Gav/Jon ? A long season ahead and a long way to go - good thing for Arsenal (if Wenger would stop being so stubborn) is that this result will let him know that he needs to strengthen.
  18. FFS !!!! I had Brum, QPR, Cardiff and Plymouth. All looking nice with Plymouth still to play and Cardiff give up two goals in last 10 mins. Arrghhhhhh Dundee, Dunfermline, Celtic and Livingston.... Dunfermline couldnt beat Airdrie.... I GIVE UP !
  19. lucky fuckers 2-1 to Stoke too - get it up ye MON !
  20. og it seems 2 points dropped if it stays this way though.
  21. hahaha. You are bitter old man !
  22. Get it up ye !! Boro are one of those teams, infuriating because they will take points off the top teams and drop points to the dross. Here's hoping that the Arse pump Fulham - cant stand Roy Hodgson.
  23. Dum de dum...... MIDO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jon boy,...... that 50 quid is slipping away already.....
  24. Difficult to tell with you :fish: WHo all did they sign from Spurs ?
  25. Definitely will be an even game if it is Tottenham v Tottenham :fish:
