  1. Aye, the grumpy bassas club on these away trips must be quite small, so you're bound to know each other.
  2. Boycotting what potential fixture? Edit- not sure if part of the statement is missing or if it's just badly written.
  3. Fantastic idea!!! Hopefully the fans could also buy the optional hat.
  4. You say that the Union Flag issue is a poor example because it's obvious that it's appropriate. Surely that makes it a good example then? It may be obvious to you and me but there are others who would disagree with it. As for the "we can work it out for ourselves" comment, I'd agree with that, but there are 2 issues with it: a) given the diversity of views on this thread, it's easier said than done. b) there are many on the thread, including the post that I was quoting, that seem to prioritise the way others see us or the opinions of others, and therefore do we take into account the views of non-bears? Do we take that into account, and again where do we draw the line on that? I don't know the answer but it's good discussion point. Yes, some of our songs have nothing to do with Rangers. Is that really an issue? Do we stop singing Penny Arcade? You don't like the Sash but I'd suggest you're in the minority. As for gay songs, the gayest song by far being sung is that gay disco Depeche Mode song sung at Parkhead. However I'm not sure how this addresses the point in my post. I'd suggest that you haven't heard the BF1 repertoire. Agree with most of that, but again it isn't really addressing the point about whether it's sectarian or not. You're correct that you don't get the point I'm trying to make. If you don't get the reasons why Barcelona use the tag line (and obviously not for religious reasons) then I guess you don't get why we used it either? I'm not talking of promoting Protestantism. I'm talking about promoting our history.
  5. But that would be nothing to do with the newco, would it, unless Green was found to have been involved in something fraudulent in respect of the administration? If the sale of assets was done in good faith then there's not much that can be done to the club, would there (although I'm no expert)?
  6. Where do we draw the line? The likes of Spiers and Keevins have criticised us for flying the Union Flag. Should we stop flying it in case we offend them? Who dictates what is sectarian? Do we ditch many of our songs? Do we refuse to allow our players to cross themselves? Are we a great Scottish institution or are we just another football team? We had a card display that said "More than a team". Are we? I think that we are. I'm not convinced that all on here share that view. We should embrace our history and make it a positive thing. That doesn't mean flying the red hand above Ibrox or wearing orange strips, but we do have a Unionist and a Protestant history and it can be be promoted in a way that is positive. Let's not let those who are offended by our very existence dictate to us who we are or what we stand for.
  7. 30% to supporters clubs seems fair enough to me. I haven't gone to away games for the last 3 seasons, BH. My son's chosen activity, which he plays to a fairly high standard, tends to take up whole weekends on occasions and it means that I find that I can't make many away games, although I do still manage to fit in most home games.
  8. There's a huge difference between having a beer with a Celtic fan and trying to help one buy Rangers.
  9. EBTs were not illegal. Fact. John Brown is a liar if he says they were. Do we deserve to be punished if they were not applied incorrectly? HMRC would obviously raise a fine. However what relevance is it to the SPL or the SFA if a tax avoidance scheme was applied 100% correctly? Even so, why would anyone with Rangers best interests at heart go public by saying that? Whyte and Ticketus have never owned Ibrox. Fact. It is getting tiresome that Brown still coming out with this crap. If Brown thinks that Regan and Doncaster tried everything to save Rangers then I seriously worry for his mental health. I would also question the loyalties of anyone who tried to give this view the slightest bit of credence.
  10. A system whereby everyone who puts their name forward at the start of the season gets an equal number of tickets over a season should be the way to go. These should definitely get priority over the people who want to buy on an occasional basis. In the past a proportion of tickets was put aside for supporters club and I wouldn't be adverse to that still happening in principle, but not sure if it's practical due to reduced capacities.
  11. It's sad that people can't disassociate a colour from a religious organisation. I've been known to wear green on occasion. Even orange sometimes. Neither meant anything. I don't feel the need to allow myself to be dictated to as to what particular colours mean. Spiers and keevins would be so proud that their propoganda is having such an effect.
  12. Profess? You are questioning other fans support for the team? Who are you to do that? Are you some sort of uber-fan? So are Rangers your football team or not? It seems that it doesn't take much for you to throw your toys out of the pram if the colour of a strip is making you threaten to stop going (I assume that's what you mean). We have had a couple of orange strips before. Why didn't you stop then?
  13. Well done to the club and to RTIDNI and all involved! It's great to read such a postive message.
  14. EBTs jingled coins at the top of opponent's back swing?
  15. Rangers played in blue last night.
  16. in case you're like me and didn't realise!
  17. Bigotry !
  18. Who are we to argue with the UN's definition?
  19. It would be good if the club could buy back Edmiston House. Had a lot of great nights in there during the 90s when Ian and Sylvia were in charge.
  20. Disagree. Racism can be based on nationality. "any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin ."
  21. Welcome. Have enjoyed many of your posts on RM.
  22. So you have been relaxed about Ally not attending all these SFA and SPL meetings with Green? You weren't waiting for Ally to say whether season tickets should be bought? You think that he should not be making statements about EBTs and the stealing of titles? Aye right.
  23. Do you think it's an irrelevant reason? Seriously, are there more important reasons at the moment?
  24. I think that's a fair comment. However, at least there is a semblence of it and members can vote against people that are proposed, but it is admittedly very difficult for your rank and file member to get anything through that the Board don't want.
  25. I think that those who are co-opted have their place ratified at the following AGM, although nt sure if they still follow the same procedure.
