  1. It's crazy that McGregor got away without a yellow.
  2. 3 VAR decisions that went against us. At the game, I'd no idea if they were correct but looking at them on the TV, I think they're correct. Raskin was offside. Their guy was offside for their goal but standing outside of the keeper's view so technically it's correct not to give it. If it was the other way around, I'd want a goal. If the Hagi penalty claim was given against us I'd be raging. It's just their player using his strength.
  3. I'd be shocked if he strays away from a back three/five and playing Dessers as a number 9.
  4. Agreed. It shouldn't be a difficult business. There are only a few income streams, one of which is basically guaranteed, another should be known fairly quickly (transfer income) and Euro/cup income is the biggest unknown but wouldn't be hard to budget for an expected amount. Costs are largely known at the start of the year and should be controllable. A relatively easy business to control, in theory. I think that the board as a whole lost a lot of their drive and vision at the same time. I'm not convinced King would have added much, other than commit us to even more dodgy deals that would need lawyers involved, particularly as he's not offered anything since leaving, other than being negative about a section of the remaining board for his own personal reasons.
  5. The fact they issued a statement last week shows that it's all agreed. They're probably still completing due diligence, but on the assumption that there's nothing hidden and it doesn't throw up anything then it'll go ahead on whatever date they've agreed.
  6. To be fair, you're probably right. The QP game has perhaps coloured my view, together with the Celtic and Fenerbahce results. However the home losing streak is extremely bad.
  7. I'm not sure that we are worse now. Either way Clement had to go as the atmosphere around the club was toxic, and whoever was being appointed was always going to be a holding role given the change in ownership and the forthcoming sporting director.
  8. Yeah, Martin Bain seemed to do a good job when Murray was moved to one side.
  9. We came out of 9IAR with no net debt and cash in the bank. It was only after 1997 that the spending went crazy.
  10. Very old school
  11. A lot of it is behind the scenes and unseen by the support, so I'm not convinced it's driven by them. My (uninformed) view is that it's the board that hasn't had the conviction to follow through on it, perhaps by employing the wrong people, and perhaps they have a lack of patience with their "toy".
  12. I didn't realise that you could vote for more than one manager.
  13. St Mirren 1 - 2 Rangers FGS Dessers
  14. A valid concern, but perhaps, for the first time, we may have owners who are willing to commit to the model for the medium term and not throw it away after 6 months, which will hopefully lead to big improvements throughout the club.
  15. Very good news. Certainly a good appointment on paper.
  16. Overlee in Clarkston and the Bank in Muirend. Both bear friendly, as I understand it.
  17. That looks pretty damn good to me.
  18. The big difference is that we're part of the same country (UK) whereas France isn't. I reckon that the main reason that it wouldn't be allowed is that it would raise the question of whether there should be 4 separate UK teams which both the FA and SFA wouldn't entertain.
  19. Nope, I don't think any sort of lawyer would argue that, mate. Wales's inclusion isn't because it's a constituent member of the UK. The rules could presumably be rewritten, if required, but as they stand, it's a non-starter in terms of relocating an existing club.
  20. Technically there is. Clubs need to be associated with a County FA to take part in a competition and a club based in Scotland wouldn't be, for example. There's also the rule that "all Clubs shall have Grounds and headquarters situated in England, the Channel Islands, Isle of Man if applicable or Wales". There are many other hurdles, such as needing a licence and permission needs to be sought to play against non-English teams.
  21. I doubt they would allow a team to relocate out of England.
  22. Given they're apparently only going to have 51% of the shares, they'd need to invest themselves. If they're going to do that anyway, it may be easier to just issue shares to themselves, as has been happening over the past few years, than going to the expense of a full share issue, the costs of which may wipe out any cash raised from the support.
