  1. I remember John Grieg as a left back. Would love to go for Harold Davis but never saw him play. Also don't have a clue what a half back is. We never really had a sitting midfielder during the 90's and much of the 00's. Can't think if one who deserves the accolade and therefore I've changed my mind and going for Harold Davis as he's one of the nicest ex-players I've had the honour to share a dinner table with.
  2. He's been playing well recently. He's been a great servant to the club, and has played consistently well throughout. He deserves a song!
  3. Jardine, Stevens, Porrini, Hutton, Tav. All great players. Tempted to go for Tav for all his goals but Gary Stevens just edges it.
  4. And this shows the problems that many of us have, as I've never seen Young, Woodburn or McKinnon. It's impossible for us to assess them. I do remember Forsyth and Jackson. Jaws was a great player and definitely deserves consideration but I didn't go that many games and had to reply on Sportscene/Scotsport and even then was not always able to watch them so again it's difficult to assess against players that I saw every week like Butcher and Gough.
  5. Gough and Butcher. Both Immense in the centre of defence. Butcher seemed at the time to be world class. A great season from Cuellar but not here long enough to make the cut.
  6. Managed to get one (from Rangers 😂). North stand.
  7. I don't know any of them, although am aware of Gary Ralston like most of us, but from comments seen elsewhere it sounds as if a very good board has been picked, despite my reservations of some of the selection committee. Good luck to them. They'll need it!
  8. And as I said in the keeper thread: Surely it should be based on people's votes rather than mentions. If everyone mentions Ally Maxwell as being crap then he could potentially win it, even if nobody feels that he was anywhere near the best keeper.
  9. Given @Rousseauseems to be counting mentions and not votes, I'll mention Barisic. I've got no idea about Tiger Shaw or Caldow as they are before my time and vaguely remember Greig playing left back. I don't recall Jardine playing there. However i don't think these mentions should be included in the poll. Numan and Robertson were probably the 2 best during my time of watching the Gers and I don't think we saw the best of Numan due to his injury so I'll go for Robertson.

  11. Andy McKellar has also written a good blog on the accounts, on the 4LHAD blog https://fourladshadadream.blog/2023/11/14/annual-report-2023-analysis/
  12. * Gets written off over a number of years 🤷‍♂️😂
  13. Yeah, but that gets amortised over the period of their contracts and it's a different line in the accounts. It's comparing cashflow with profit.
  14. We've already sold Kamara, Colak, Sakala and Mayo. Profit of £6 or 7 million? But yeah, not sure where the next lot of sales are coming from.
  15. We qualified for the Champions League and made a £23.6m profit on player trading and still managed to make a loss before tax of £3.1m. A £9.2m increase in staff costs. Legal costs and resolution of contractual settlements of £1.33m. Obviously we don't have a split between the two but we only had a provision of £425K in the previous year's account. £13m of loans from the directors are helping, but while they're not great in themselves, the next few years could be problematic if we can't maintain a £10m+ player trading profit.
  16. I'm sure that they said something similar 6-12 months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up getting deferred.
  17. I disagree. Goram was very good with the ball at his feet.
  18. The Goalie. Best in the world for a couple of years. I can't think of another Rangers player who we could claim that about during my time watching the Gers.
  19. Whereas it doesn't even get into the top 5 of bad half performances of this season alone.
  20. I don't think I've seen one Rangers supporter get too carried away with Clement's start. Not one. We've all been burned too many times. Virtually all are delighted with how the team is now playing compared to a month ago, and virtually all are delighted with our win against Sparta, apart from the odd one.
  21. Between Danilo, Jack and Davies for me. Really tough choice between Davies and Jack. Given Bill has gone for Jack I'll go for Davies.
