  1. Barca's 5th should have been disallowed and a penalty awarded to Benfica instead, but as in Scotland, some clubs get all the decisions.
  2. I thought Propper and Nsiala were our best players for the first hour and then Curtis and Rice were for the last half hour. I know Dessers got a hattrick but I'm struggling to give it to him due to that ridiculous early miss and the fact he didn't do much else. I'm going for Propper. Sorry.
  3. Hagi had a great first half. Nsiala had some wonderful passes, particularly in the first half. I felt that they were the 2 standouts. Going for Nsiala due to his assist that killed the game.
  4. Yeah, still waiting on mine.
  5. Rangers 3 - 1 Aberdeen FGS Igamane
  6. I remember doing an article on the Boumsong sale, praising his agent Willie McKay. We used the cash to buy Kyrgiakos, Barry and Buffel in the winter window and result was the never-to-be forgotten Helicopter Sunday.
  7. £7 million for Igamane looks on the low side at the moment. He's got tremendous potential and other clubs should be able to see that. It is a gamble as Cammy points out, but one criticism aimed at the club over the past 8 years is that we've sold players at a lower amount than other clubs appear to be able to do. The opposite argument regarding Morelos and Kent also applies so it's a difficult line to get right. I'd hope our CEO with his experience would be able to judge it better than perhaps we've done in the past.
  8. You agree that the UB were criticised by the support for protesting against Ashley? Are you saying that a majority of the support weren't anti-Ashley? I accept that the UBs and others have the right to protest, just as those who disagreed with their approach yesterday have the right to show their displeasure at the walkout. I've already said that anyone throwing stuff should be banned, and both sides of the argument should be allowed to continue without any physical intimidation. I do have a lot of time for the UBs on the whole. Their displays are great and they bring much needed atmosphere to the ground. It doesn't mean that I can't criticise them for some stuff where it's deserved, disagree with their walkout or highlight why some fans have no time for them.
  9. They don't need to offer solutions or alternatives, but when they seem intent in driving away the people who are financially supporting the club then it could reasonably be argued that they could potentially cause a lot more problems than a few poor away results are causing. The head in the sand approach of ignoring that is could be said to be irresponsible. I believe most can understand why fans are protesting but it seems very unlikely that any potential new owners will be as Rangers-minded as the current ones and may not be as supportive financially then if they achieve what they seem to want (although I'm still unclear about that) then it's just going to be more damaging. The difference between the protests against the spivs (and again most of the support were against them) and now is that we could see that the spivs were out for themselves, whereas the current board aren't. You point to the Copland issues and I'd point to the selling of part the Albion (which I'm still furious about) but overall I believe that they want the best for the club.
  10. 90% plus of the support were anti-Ashley. Let's not rewrite history.
  11. I really doubt that they are pissing themselves or are that they want a divided support. The board want success as much as the rest of the support. I doubt they look on us in the same way as Murray did. They'll be frustrated as everyone else and to try and paint them as the second coming of Murray isn't helpful and perhaps a sign that emotions are high. The one thing about yesterday's protests and recent statements is that nobody is coming up with proposed alternatives. Not one. If the directors walk away and withdraw their £22m loans (as at 30/6/24) where do the payments for next month's salaries come from? Who do the protesters want to take over? I don't think anyone denies that there hasn't been mismanagement but we have extremely limited resources to change things and there is nobody looking to take over from the current board. Frustrations are high but if change for the better is to be achieved, there needs to be a different approach and not done with meaningless platitudes.
  12. They did ask to get moved so they're not totally blameless, As for your second paragraph, are you really going there? Does your seat mean that little to you that you would be happy to accept a move away from your friends that you've built up relationships with over 20 years? However the seat move was only one of the reasons that people do get pissed off with the UBs at times.
  13. Fans have been moved from their seats after holding season tickets for decades. Fans are verbally abused and physically intimidated at away games and have their views blocked by the constant waving of flags. A banner in support of someone who assaulted a woman is regularly shown (but was unsurprisingly absent today) as are the 1312 banners, and yet we're supposed to feel sympathy when they're verbally abused? No stuff should be thrown by anyone (and anyone doing so should be banned) but they've caused much of the bad feelings towards them themselves.
  14. There seemed to be very little support in the stadium for the UB banners. There was some applause in the Broomloan but very limited elsewhere. I was surprised by the level of booing when they did their walkout. I was also surprised at how few joined them from the rest of the stadium. The reduction in fans wasn't noticeable apart from the UB section.
  15. As I've said before, I thought his press conference was quite good, but the RSA have said that it was the content of it that's causing them to protest today.
  16. What is the protest trying to achieve? It says that they want "accountability, ambition and leadership". That's very generic. I'm not sure what they want the directors to do. Bring in new directors? Sell up? Take way their finance and loans? I don't know what exactly they are wanting. As for the RSA, they appear to be faceless these days. No mention of who their office holders on their website or twitter as far as I can see. Changed days from when John McMillan and John Donald ran it extremely well for many years. It's an organisation that doesn't have individual members so it's a bit more difficult for people to know who to aim their thoughts at. People are entitled to leave when they want, either on 55th minute or part of the subway loyal, but should be aware that it's impacting the team when they do so....in the same way as the actions of an organisation that costs the club tens of thousand of pounds in a year in fines does.
  17. So only those who go to the games and stay for 90 minutes can have an opinion on the UBs actions?
  18. No need to be insulting with your "hard of thinking" comments.
  19. If we had a better squad we would be winning more and he wouldn't be sacked.
  20. I thought what he said sounded good. It's unrealistic to expect that he's got all the answers immediately. My main issue is that we have heard most of it in the past as well, and there's been a failure to deliver. Hopefully he's got both the ability and the power to deliver.
  21. Sorry mate. Your post didn't seem to appear to me until after the game.
  22. Dundee 1 - 2 Rangers FGS Igamane
