  1. Yes, you very rarely see that in the modern game; too much of this 'inverted winger stuff.' I liked to see the winger go past the FB on the outside and drive a cross in for the CF to bullet home.
  2. My grandpa used to take me to Firhill so I kind of have a nostalgic affection for them. Hope we don't over-punish them.
  3. I listened to the whole interview with Chris Reeve from talk Norwich. He rates Cantwell alongside James Madison; if he's anywhere near as good that will do me. Only issue is who drops out to make way: Tillman most likely.
  4. Noel Cantwell once ordered me off the pitch at the old Highfield Road ground when he was manager. I was miffed because I was taking a break from painting his dressing rooms. Some things are never forgotten!
  5. I'm sure he was close to joining the Souness revolution at one stage.
  6. They do sound like public school types, what?
  7. I was told he was younger? Just trying to be helpful☹️
  8. I just meant that we've seen similar ones given in the WC and elsewhere, even when hands are down. Hate the rule anyway.
  9. We murdered them 2-2 so suppose I should be happy.
  10. Beaton and Collum on the VAR saved us from a Goldson handball; that sort was being given in the World Cup.
  11. Maeda is showing everything that is missing in Kent. But why oh why do we give the ball away more often than them?
  12. A Birmingham city fan I know tells me that Jude Bellingham's younger brother is rated even higher than his elder. Get him in on loan.
  13. I'm always the optimist but I fail to see why Keltic are so good man for man. Where they did have the upper hand is in their last minute recoveries; it's not where we start, it's where we finish. Against Hibs we showed that we might be rivalling their durability.
  14. You're quite right; I hadn't factored in the physics. It can hurt if you're hit by a tennis ball.
  15. Yes it's remarkable how many British names crop up in Argentina.
  16. In what way is it rubbish?
  17. Could understand it more if the balls were as heavy as the old bladders in our day; they had thick laces as well and were heavy enough just kicking never mind heading.
  18. If so then I would want Kevin Thomson as his assistant. From his podcast with English recently I took it to be his job application; he certainly is Rangers-minded.
  19. "If you need to ask what the budget is, you're not the man for Rangers."
  20. Kevin Thomson in his podcast with Tom English made a good point: he said there's a world of difference between fighting relegation battles and managing Rangers' expectations: so that rules out Dyche. Knutsen would handle Keltic all right but I wouldn't be unhappy with Beale and Thomson as his assistant.
  21. Flippin' eck....wishing the death of another human being is not 'breaking decency laws'?
  22. Hate to raise this but if we get rid of GVB who on earth would be available to take the job? Surely not McInnes? Sean Dyche maybe. Think the Michael Beale ship has sailed too.
  23. Oh dear. This could spell the end of Gio. Never thought I'd be saying that.
  24. It's now clear that Michael Beale was the power behind the throne. Could be our manager one day.
