  1. That is definitely the correct answer, I was just trying to find a more positive answer!
  2. They do say you learn more from your mistakes than your victories! You can transfer that to say there is much more to discuss in troubled times than in an easy uncontroversial victory.
  3. I know it’s a bit of fun, but “cheatin’ Beaton” is no feckin friend of ours. By my reckoning the OF game was Beatons first game at Ibrox where he wasn’t booed off at both HT and FT, and he has officiated many times at our home.
  4. The Rangers captain, knows English game, huge number of goals and assists for a full back, European experience, all for £8M? Not a chance without a Dick Turpin mask. Do you see what bang average players that are nowhere near the level of Tav are going for in England these days? A helluva lot more than £8M. They are paying more than that for players with a handful of first team games. We must be more aware of the market we are selling our players into. We should no longer be grateful for a bid of a few million.
  5. Really enjoyed that today, despite the dodgy pitch and freezing cold! Katic was my MOTM, I thought he was fantastic today against a player that bullied us last time round, won everything and was assured on the ball too. Great to see him back! After Katic, Tav & Candeias we’re both excellent today, and Morelos does the work of two strikers and was unlucky to only get 1 goal today. McCrorie won his battles in midfield whereas I thought Jack & Arfield were not at their best today but both worked hard enough to keep us on top throughout the game apart from the 10-15 mins before HT when we went backwards and allowed Livvy to dominate midfield. The HT break worked a treat for us today. Onwards and upwards to Cowdenbeath before hosting St Mirren. 2 dominant wins are a must before a very tough trip to Dolly.
  6. No more excuses please Rangers, just go out with pride, passion, and a determination to win the personal battles that will allow us to win the 3 points. The manager has some difficult choices to make in terms of selection, formation and tactics. He has got it wrong a few times (as expected for a rookie) but needs to show improvement and that he is learning from the errors. Thats us now starting to play teams away from home a second time and with only 4 wins from our first visit to our 11 rivals it is safe to say this has to be improved upon in our 8 remaining away games. The last trip to Livingston was a total embarrassment, a repeat performance will see us only able to concentrate on a race for second place for the rest of this campaign. So let’s try to stay positive, that we will play good football and win the game comfortably and we can move on to Cowdenbeath with spirits lifted.
  7. I dont go to friendlies anymore as they rarely give you value and the result is irrelevant, but I may watch this via my RTV sub (that I dont really use anyway) if the new boys are in the starting line-up which I think is a certainty just to see what formation and system we use. Especially with last night being cancelled there is more emphasis in trying to get the first choice team some minutes ahead of 2 hugely difficult trips to Killie & Livvy in the next week.
  8. The winter break is not really anything to do with the weather, which is so unpredictable that it would be impossible to arrange a season's fixtures in the summer to account for what might be the worst of the weather over a whole winter. Last year for example the worst weather we had was at the end of Feb/start of March when snow closed airports and pretty much the whole country. The winter break is exactly that, a break. It gives players the chance to rest, get rid of niggling injuries, for the top clubs to get some warm weather training which is so much better for players than what we can give them at home. Putting this break at the beginning of January makes perfect sense as well as it is in the transfer window and gives clubs time to try to bring players in without the fixtures getting in the way. My personal preference would be to shut down end of November and start back start of March (last year would have been frustrating but that was very rare) and play through the summer with the mid-season break every 2 years for international tournaments. Playing twice a week in these months is much easier than through the winter, for the players, and for fans. As a fan who goes to every game (not friendlies though!) I know I would much rather go in a t-shirt and shorts or simple casual clothing than 5 layers and still not be able to feel your nose or feet.
  9. 3 good examples you have given there, there are probably a good few others too.
  10. Sad news for him and his family. Such a disgusting debilitating illness, wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
  11. Agree with those worried about a Worrell recall under MON. His type of anti-football, high ball back to front and physical all over the pitch will see him look at Worrell (I'm sure he will have watched the OF game where Worrell had a fine game) and think he is worthy of a place in his team/squad. Also will see it as weakening us which will be a bonus for him. I hope SG is preparing for his departure. Perhaps giving McCrorie another chance at CH as his chances in midfield are reducing with Davis coming in and talk of a change of shape which may mean we play with one less CM?
  12. Lets try this again bears; Here are the league games between now and the split, a maximum of 36 points. Guess the total we will achieve from these 12 games. Just a bit of fun! As a reminder we got 21 out of the previous 30 points available, dropping points in draws with Dundee, Hibs (twice) and losing to Dolly, winning the other 6. Wed 23 Jan Kilmarnock v Rangers Sun 27 Jan Livingston v Rangers Sat 2 Feb Rangers v St. Mirren Wed 6 Feb Aberdeen v Rangers Sat 16 Feb Rangers v St. Johnstone Sun 24 Feb Hamilton v Rangers Wed 27 Feb Rangers v Dundee Fri 8 Mar Hibernian v Rangers Sat 16 Mar Rangers v Kilmarnock Sun 31 Mar Celtic v Rangers Wed 3 Apr Rangers v Hearts Sat 6 Apr Motherwell v Rangers I'm going to go for 28 points out of 36, which should see us still in with a good shout going into the final 5 games. I would think if we get less than 24 (average of 2 per game) we will be a good bit behind, and anything over 30 points will probably see us top.
  13. Superb from KT there, oh how I cheered at the time. Putting the Oirish mercenary in his place early on was exactly what was required. Back in the day when a fair tackle was called a fair tackle by the comms, nowadays a week long enquiry as to why KT wasnt sent off for standing his ground after the tackle, or for launching in at pace which could have hurt a poor wee defenceless soul wearing GnG hoops.
  14. Potty mouth!! needs some media training does the young lad, but I like his style!
  15. I see Rudden scored again today, well done young man!
  16. Still a bang average player, but add confidence, guts, heart and desire and it helps a great deal in addition to good coaching. I wouldn't have him as first pick for any position he can play but a decent enough backup assuming his wage is quite low.
  17. If Tierney is being banded as a £20M player (no laughing at the back!), then Tav should be around the same number. He is every bit as good going forward (better IMO), also has a far higher rate of assists/goals than KT, and is equally good (both not great) defensively. Would the tims take £7M for KT? Not a chance.
  18. Great picture and message. I share the sentiments entirely.
  19. Glad we got this over the line. Will be interesting if SG sees him starting with Morelos or as an impact sub. Will also be interesting to see if his lack of game time in 2018 will mean he is behind the pace for a few weeks or if he is ready to go immediately. Now we need our creative midfielder to come in. Not many rumours about who that may be so an intriguing couple of weeks ahead.
  20. Despite all the rumours and insider knowledge, media "confirmation" etc, there is still no official word on any players (Defoe, Davis, 2 x USA guys) signing for the club. Just the 2 pre-contract guys announced yesterday. Are there issues still to be resolved, medical or financial, or are we just waiting till we do an official presser prior to going to Tenerife for training? Perhaps SG is having a few days off with his family and isnt available to do the official unveiling yet? Not worried (actually not worried if they even sign or not) just wondering why there has been nothing official on this yet despite being "done" for several days now?
  21. Also worth noting that within an hour of the Defoe story breaking the Evening times tweets about a fan throwing a bottle at police, and the sun with the above story. Talk about throw shite about to deflect from a Rangers good news story!
  22. that really is a horrible headline to link his son "mowing down" someone to an unproven speeding violation which may not have even involved him. tick tock to when the gutter press dies forever if this is all they want to report on.
  23. Oh he is 100% definitely both!
  24. Disgusting sour grapes from scum in the mhedia. Nothing about Brown taking out Morelos in first half as we tried to counter attack? I didn’t see it live but Morelos goes down holding his face and the only one in the area was Brown. Anyone got footage?
  25. Well we got 21 points out of the 30. we beat Motherwell, Livingston, Hearts, Hamilton, St Johnstone and of course the bheasts, while we drew with Dundee, and Hibs twice with our sole loss in the 10 games being the calamitous home defeat to Dolly. Nobody got 21 so nobody wins the stale turkey and flat beer! Might try this again for the next group of league fixtures before we get going again after the break.
