  1. Great preview, well done sir! Absolutely not got a clue about starting lineup but I would expect to see McGregor, Goldson, Katic, Tav, Barisic continue at the back. The other 6, not a clue! Was going to say Morelos but travelling back from South America May well see him a little weary and SG may prefer to start with someone else.
  2. "a hamstring problem" Nice way of making getting booted up into the air and unable to play since sound like a run of the mill injury.
  3. The evidence of why this was done will come out in the years to come, and it will almost certainly benefit celtic. Quite how and what is unclear for now, but a sly sleekit deal has been done as Haughey has never given away chunky money for nothing in his life and wont start now.
  4. Regarding the last item, would it be an idea to invite him onto the gersnet podcast and invite Q's from our forum members in a C1872 special (or segment of regular show)?
  5. A truly disgusting disease that robs people of their physical abilities while their brain remains fully functional. How that must feel is beyond my comprehension. With all the money being pumped into cancer research, these diseases and others that are life-limiting rather than terminal (MND, MS etc) seem to be always have very little by way of funds for research to find a cure. I hope this makes his life a little more comforting now he can communicate with his family again.
  6. While this must have been a terrifying experience for those wheelchair users at the piggery, surely the story is that the disgusting antics of the bheast players could have caused a riot. Players and managers have been warned continually over their behaviour in not stoking up or antagonising the opposing fans, yet these classless scumbags are allowed to do a triumphant dance in front of the Rangers section. We know fine well that had the roles been reversed the story headlines would be "tasteless triumphalism almost kills disabled fans" and calls for those players leading the antics to be banned.
  7. Good luck with it tonight moonlighter, always a thoroughly entertaining and enlightening experience. The greatest story ever told. And this one's true!!
  8. Thanks for that info @buster. So we are saying that only McGregor is a club trained player, and that our ATP players are Arfield, Dorrans, Jack & Halliday? Why is McCorie a B list player - age? He is a first team regular and is club-trained. Any insight is appreciated.
  9. Would Wallace not be an association trained player, due to him being in Scotland all his career, and therefore would be able to be included without detriment to our quotas? I am guessing that by association trained player, that he has to have come through the youth ranks within Scotland, or qualify for Scotland? Both of which boxes Wallace ticks.
  10. I must admit that due to being in the air I didnt see any of the game and landed to turn my phone on and was totally gutted to see the result. What disappointed me more was on further reading, how poorly we played for the first hour or so where we let our fragile opponent dictate the flow of the game, have all the chances, and generally use the game to get their confidence back. Hence the celebrations from them at the end, I think most of them thought they were going to find it tough yesterday as well. What worries me more is that after 3 league away games, we have 2 points, have conceded in every game, and have only dominated one of the 3 games while being really quite poor in the other 2. While some go on about a 12 game unbeaten run, and that we were tired after our Russian exploits, we were continually told that we had the best and toughest pre-season in years, and wouldnt be blaming fitness on any result, and yet here we are already making excuses. The nature of the performances at Fir Park and yesterday worry me more than the results. We were second best for large chunks of both games from what I read on here (not having seen either game in full) and the inability to keep clean sheets away from home while setting up defensively, is not a good omen. It is only to be realistic to understand that our manager is learning all the way along and has shown some admirable qualities to date. The working of this transfer market was simply incredible and to be heartily applauded. The ability to get through 4 really tough 2 legged European ties is also thoroughly satisfying. However the league is the bread and butter and we sit with 5 points out of 12. We simply have to win the next 5 league matches (Dundee, St Johnstone & Hearts at home and Livvy & Hamilton away) before we travel to Easter Road at the end of October. If we have 20 points by then we will probably be in second place and no more than 4 points behind the scum, which will then look a lot better after 9 games than it does after 4. November sees us entertain Motherwell & Livvy and travel to St Mirren. Surely another 9 points are the only option there. 30 from 13 games would be a reasonable return and put us on target to be realistic title contenders. What we cannot have are any more silly slip ups like at Fir Park against a side who going into that game were winless and goalless. The Europa League will get in the way (in a nice way of course!) and force us to use the squad. But that is why we sanctioned so many new faces of a better quality than the ones who left. If we can also get our injured players (Coulibaly, Dorrans, Rossiter, etc) back and available we should be able to rotate a little. SG must also use his subs wisely in this regard. Most importantly we must retain the ball better, create more chances, and score more goals. Have courage in possession, hunger to get it back when we dont. We started like that but after a few games we have tailed off already. Yesterdays terrible result and performance is the crossroads for the season, it can go one of two ways from here. Sadly, one road we have travelled on far too often, lets go the other way this time.
  11. Just as a reference point the rattlers 3 home game package is already on sale at £72 for their ST holders. £24per game, I thought we might be looking at nearer £30 ourselves
  12. The big issue for me will be Collum. He has plenty previous for bias for his beloved hoops and against us. With the the pressure being cranked up and the bheasts needing a reassuring result, I can’t see us getting a fair crack. I expect some early cards for us, some soft free kicks in dangerous areas for them and perhaps also the obligatory penalty and red card if nothing else is working. I’ll take a draw thanks.
  13. Simply stunning display of defensive football from us today. Against all odds and yet another corrupt official we have achieved what most if not all of us thought was impossible given the seeding situation and the rapid succession of games for an entirely new team. We we can look forward to a really tough draw tomorrow as I’m guessing we will be pot 4 but simply being there is sensational.
  14. Feed started working just after my last post, and we were cruising until another terrible decision when they are clearly offside but are allowed to run on and score. Then Morelos, although stupid in the extreme to kick the ball away it was never a foul so you can understand the frustration but you have to be more professional than that, then the petulant refusal to go to the red to get his booking allows the ref to give another yellow. Most refs would just show the yellow from 10 yards away and get on with it but this guy decides otherwise.
  15. Anyone got dodgy links? ive bought RTV but it’s broken down- I’ve seen about 20 seconds so far
  16. While I’m gutted at missing the next 3 weeks games live, I am actually looking forward to watching these games on RTV with fellow bears in LA/SF and if we get past Maribor LV too. WhenI booked this trip back in January (silver anniversary special for my long-suffering better half) I knew I would miss a few games and it didn’t bother me too much. Anyone that knows me knows that I don’t miss games lightly and it was symptomatic of our clubs woes that I couldn’t care if I missed a game or 3 to go on holiday. My wife would confirm that in the past we have only ever holidayed in June as that was the only way to ensure I didn’t miss games. The rejuvenation of the club this summer has not been restricted to the management and players. Us, the fans, are also feeling things we haven’t felt since Walters reign. We are getting those juices flowing again and we can feel we are finally getting back to a squad worthy of our name, albeit it might take another couple of windows to finish it off, we can already see and feel that we will be contenders this season, and for the first time in 7/8 years we have a chance to win the big prize.
  17. Anybody got any clips from a different angle from the rather strange one SSN chose to show for the McCrorie foul. From my seat I was fairly sure that Goldson was covering, the striker over hit his touch and so was never going to be able to score, and it should have been yellow. My doubts are accentuated by SSN only showing one close-up angle which doesn’t show any context or panorama. We we were looking great up till then and I thought we would go on to run up a big score. Worried about Coulibaly limping off, definitely going to need him at full strength on Thursday. Is Sadiq just a modern Ted McMinn? Doesn’t seem to have a clue what he wants to do when in possession! Not sure if he’s going to be amazing or a Sebo! Barisic was excellent, Morelos is back to his best, Goldson outstanding today as was McGregor.
  18. The Govan Stand display was a shambles, nobody had a clue what it was. Glasgow landmarks? Lived here all my life and didn’t recognise anything. Our club our city were at least clear but you know it’s just a retort to the GB’s Glasgow’s green and white and I’d rather we concentrate on us than play silly display games with slavering scumbags. We could have had a welcome to SG & the new team or just something about us and our pride in our team. Havent heard anything about the “march” so I’m hoping that means it passed without incident.
  19. Didnt know that, but it sounds exactly the right thing to be doing for a new recruit. It seems so obvious but yet it still takes a management team with fresh ideas about building team harmony to introduce it. It's very early days but its looking very promising indeed.
  20. While that is disappointing, i'm sure if he can continue to play the way he has so far for the rest of the season (its a very long time!) he will have more than earned his wage and if we cannot afford to buy him then so be it. If it turns out he wants to make the move permanent, i'm sure we will be able to do a deal with Angers.
  21. I would add that, in my experience of sitting/standing near the UB on many occasions over the last few years at away games, not many of them could even tell you the score, far less how the game is going, what subs we have used, who has been booked etc, as they appear to only be watching themselves and sometimes the opposition supporters. Not my idea of fun, nor why I still after more than 30 years I am still hooked to go to every game I can at home, away and abroad to watch and cheer on my team, hopefully be entertained by a good game of football, and see us get a victory. But hey-ho, each to their own.
  22. Brilliantly put @Bill absolutely spot on.
  23. I know I have ruined this by my last post (and of course now this one too) but I cant be the only one who says to themselves "ya dancer, @26th of foot has put another post in the PQ musings thread" before clicking into it and reading the latest fantastic insight to a corrupt and biased organisation once the most trusted in world media (ok that was probably more the London version). Thanks again sir, I dont know how you manage to stick with them and god only knows what your blood pressure readings must be like, but it is most certainly eye-opening and entertaining (unlike the PQ broadcasts).
  24. It looks like the tims will be playing Thursday night football from the next round so BBC CSC will be ok.
  25. @Gonzo79, you will also recall that even though we won a lot of matches easily, the performances were not always scintillating, and more often were professional. I fully take your point that as a whole we only get up for big/important games, and that some (youre being kind!) of their songs are gash. I do admire their efforts if not always their tune or lyrics. I wish they would leave it at that and ditch this marches/ultras pish that is so unnecessary and unwelcome. They would have much greater support from the rest of us if this was the case.
