  1. It is hilarious to see McGregor, Forrest diving about at the slightest touch and looking at the ref who is waving play on as if to say "I get these fouls all the time in Scotland".
  2. Shinnie looking like a complete diddy playing for Scotland this afternoon at left back. At fault for 2 of the 3 goals so far... To be fair his teammate, the "highly rated" McKenna is looking like a total fud as well.
  3. I'm all for giving our own youth players or young players brought in every chance to develop and grow into the jersey. Experienced professionals who come in from other Scottish clubs shouldn't need much. Someone like Shinnie who has been at Dolly for a while and has looked a bang average plodder in a very inconsistent (apart from v us) team isn't someone I would expect to see much improvement from, hence the reason I would rather take a pass on him in favour of a McCrorie, or another youth player getting a chance, or bringing in an experienced player who fits the criteria that SG & MA have laid out for incoming players, which surely will not be a match for Shinnie.
  4. I for one would be absolutely delighted if he were to end up at Luton. We have for far too often taken players from mediocre Scottish clubs, given them an almighty pay rise, only for them to be just as inconsistent as they were at their previous clubs when it didnt matter that much if they only had 2 good games out of 5. Having already committed to the bang average Jones from Killie, the completely bang average Shinnie is a player we can absolutely do without. Players signed from Scottish clubs seem to go missing when big games come along, producing mostly below par performances when we need it most, and to me that shows a lack of a winners bottle and mentality. There is no value in the Scottish game, tell me the last player we signed from a Scottish Club that greatly improved our quality? I cant think of any since we got back into the top flight. (may well be forgetting one or two, but none are coming into my mind automatically!) From our current squad signed from other Scottish clubs would be the likes of Kamara, Jack, and in recent seasons would include the likes of Black (shivers!)
  5. A clear penalty kick IMO. At the very least it was a play on. The one thing it most certainly 100% was NOT, was a dive without contact. Our club has to go to war with the authorities on these incompetent/cheating people in power. I challenge anyone to provide me evidence of a game in which Clancy (or Conroy/McLean/Beaton) have refereed a game and not given major (wrong) decisions against Rangers. It is not incompetent if the errors are always in one direction. It is cheating, or at the very least, bias. They referee the game as a fan that hates one club, where in every challenge they are looking at it from the perspective of what did the Rangers player do wrong, or conversely that the opposing player wasnt that bad an offence as it is against Rangers.
  6. Just seen the Morelos booking back on tv as couldn’t tell from my seat at the game at the other end. Confirmed my suspicion, sheep pulls back AM, who goes to ground. Stonewall penalty. If your a cheat you might say not enough contact for a foul them you play on. Only a bitter Rangers hating chunt can give a yellow for diving.
  7. I agree with the OP's "what if" but I keep asking myself "What if" we had fair-minded, competent, referees. Any number of huge game-changing incidents on Friday. What if McGregor had been correctly sent off after only 8 minutes. What if Morelos was awarded the stonewall penalty? What if Gray had been rightly sent off for his viscous assault on Morelos in the second half? What if the referee gives us a free kick for the clear foul on Tav that leads to their goal? There were 5 major decisions for the referee to make on Friday night, the 4 above and also the over-ruling the linesman's flag for an offside because Hibs were in a great position to score. I bet McLean was absolutely livid that not only did Hibs fail to take advantage of his cheating and fail to score, but we went up the park and scored on the breakaway. I also get to asking myself "what if" the referee gives a clear penalty for the handball last time round at Easter Road in the last minute of a goalless game? What if Morelos is not wrongly sent off at Dolly in a game we dominate and drop 2 points in the last minute? What if Scott Brown was correctly red-carded at rugby Park for an awful assault in a game where he goes on to score a last minute winner? These are just the first ones off the top of my head, this season, that if the what ifs had gone the correct way, would see us level on points at the top. There are more, plenty of them. What if indeed!
  8. Gerrard spoke well about this very subject in his Hibs preview presser. All about us being one club and him wanting to make sure the womens team feel like they are a big part of the club. I do wonder if this "one club" ethos extends to SG and his coaching staff having discussions with the womens coaches and discussing their coaching methods. Do we make all our sports science, medical and gym facilities available to our womens team as well? If not, why not? I dont really care for Womens football, (it is certainly getting better as recent SheBelieves Cup showed but IMO a decent lower league team would beat the womens world champions so there is a huge way to go for it to be a quality product) but if we are to embrace this as being part of our club, we should really embrace it and give them all the support that our mens team get. not a few apprenticeships that we are no doubt receiving grants for. Perhaps with a truly supported womens side we could become a genuine rival to Glasgow City.
  9. Fantastic news, this means we can expect to receive a much bigger transfer fee in the summer when he is sold. Any lingering doubts that he may stay another season has probably gone now. Hopefully he gets to win something before he goes, apart from the golden boot.
  10. That perhaps explains his woeful performance on Sunday. I actually thought he looked injured. Either that or he totally bottled the game, and I was content to give him the benefit of the doubt given he has played really well the last few weeks.
  11. Really enjoyed that video, they look a very happy couple taking a big adventure to try to work in a different country to better themselves. hope we get to see Polster in action soon, he must be about ready for some action by now.
  12. The reason for the club not moving them to BF3 has been well known and discussed for many years. I myself when on the Working Group committee back in 2010-11 spoke to David Martin (head of security at the club) at some length to get UB moved to BF3. The reason is the sight lines for those in the areas beside them. If you are in BF2 or BF4 and wish to watch the match from the comfort of your seat, you cannot see a large area of the pitch due to the UB standing in BF3. This is why they are in BF1, it is the only area where them standing doesnt affect the sight lines of other fans in neighbouring sections. The club turn a blind eye to them standing throughout the game in contravention of the ground rules. I havent been in the loop on this issue since the WG stood down in 2012, but I cant see that the argument has changed a bit as the fact remains the same. UB can move to BF3 if they sit down, which goes against everything they are about so they have to remain at the end of the stand where they dont disrupt everyone else. What is the big deal with this anyway? They can expand into BF2 if they have sufficient numbers, which they have never had. I understand their plea for a safe standing area, and that they would be upset that we are not going to go for that. Personally, I am against a safe standing area, so I am delighted the club have decided against this.
  13. We simply have to take full points from our next 2 league games while the bheasts go to Hearts and entertain Dolly. If they win both their games, there is nothing we can do about it and that would probably be enough to secure the title for them, but we just must win our games against Dundee and Hibs to ensure that if they do indeed drop points we are closing the gap and not letting them off the hook. I dont believe we can win the title as we have been far too inconsistent but we should be trying to find a consistent run of victories to at least put some pressure on them, especially with them only having an interim manager and we know that this can lead to inconsistent performances as the players know the manager is gone soon.
  14. We have to go on the front foot with this or they will push on and develop new legislation (either within football or within the kiddy-on parliament) without us. We must show the sheer hypocrisy of this latest bout of selective-offendedness and call out all those that were either silent after Sunday and vocal now, or called cheer up Kris Boyd "banter" and cheer up Stevie Clarke sectarian abuse. We cant wait to hope some journo shows this up, (they wont) we must go on all out attack directly from within the club. They will soon quieten down when they realise we can show them all up and we wont just sit and take it anymore like we have done the last 20 years.
  15. Agree with you on Grezda. Some players get better when they are out injured (Rossiter seemed to become a worldie the longer he is out!) and some players get forgotten about and written off prematurely. I think Grezda, when fully match fit, will be a good player for us.
  16. "UEFA shall consider requests for kick-off time slots overlapping with UEFA competition matches on a case-by-case basis and undertakes to strive to find a positive solution, depending on all circumstances of each individual case. This is the bit that interests me. The fact we have a domestic cup replay, hurriedly arranged to fit the schedule, gives more than enough reason to show our game on an internet platform, thereby not competing with the main tv broadcast of CL fixtures. It is a slam dunk, and this is exactly the rule that PSG will have used to ensure they can broadcast their game. If our game is blacked out, it is because we have not applied to UEFA to allow us to show it, and if we have, we should be announcing that to our fans via our own website and showing the hypocrisy of UEFA yet again by them allowing a league game in France featuring a big powerful club to be televised, but not ours.
  17. 9-8 on pens, both sides missed 2 pens each and it was back to the first penalty takers second time round before our keeper saved and we scored ours to take the title. Well done lads, I’m sure it will get national coverage by the Scottish media!
  18. Yaaaaaaasssssssssss,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Roma have been by far the better side in the second half, and in truth they should have scored 3 or 4 goals by now. However as i type we have just gone up the park and scored. 1-1. NYC sets it up with a beauty of a pass and Dixon scores a very tidy finish across the keeper into the far corner. GAME ON!!!
  20. The 20 minutes I seen we look a very accomplished side with some decent players, and we more than held our own against our Italian opponents. In fact we dominated most of the game and our forward players have the beating of the Roma defenders. Had it not been for the error by the captain in getting red carded (I didnt see a slip, surely if he claimed a slip VAR would have been used?) just before the break. Roma's tactics after the red card seemed to be to try to get one of ours sent off, their full back feigned a raised hand by Lyle that was rightly ignored, they are winding up NYC every time (doesnt take much, he makes Morelos look calm). So basically it looks like the Italians are training their youth teams in exactly the same way as their pro teams have acted for the last 60 years - kick, dive and strangle the game, nick a goal and defend for your life.
  21. Really stupid tackle from our captain McLelland and our man advantage is gone. 10 v 10. We had been fully on top with our man advantage but a moment of madness, when he was clear favourite to win the ball but looked to be more keen to take the man out than win the ball.
  22. Nathan Young-coomes looks an absolute superstar in the making. Just done a Mols turn leaving the defender who was tight on him chasing a shadow but his shot was easily saved.
  23. stupid female referee made a total mess of this here. Our Young-Coomes straight through on goal, hauled down by the Roma defender, the ref gives us a foul, books our player and doesnt give the defender anything! Then VAR steps in and the defender is rightly sent off. We hit the FK into the wall but at least we have a man advantage for the last hour.
  24. I must be a jinx, just clicked the above to get a quick 5 mins of this, only to see really poor defending by both full backs and us lose a really soft goal to go 1-0 down after 24 minutes.
  25. There is only 1 reason Power got off with a yellow card, and that is simply that he would miss the replay. Had Killie been eliminated, or indeed had they got through, this would have been properly reclassified as a red. The bheasts in and around the mhedia have been gunning for McGregor since day 1, more so given he was keeping us in games in the early weeks of the season and was our most consistent player, so having already failed with one attempt to get AM done earlier in the season, there was massive pressure on the CO to convict this time round. The fact it was identical to Browns lunge at Morelos at Ibrox was irrelevant. You couldn’t give them a brass neck with a blow torch and with a fully compliant press, tv and radio all singing the soldiers song alongside, the kangaroo court was in full session. Operation “nothingmuststoptheten” is in full flow.
