  1. Hemdani & Daily are gone as we know & my other choices for the door would be - Beasley - Good player, but too lightweight for most SPL games. Gow - It hasn't worked out for him at Ibrox. Ferguson - He hasn't shown that he deserves to be picked this season & considering his salary I'd rather we hold on to players with more potential & a little longevity. McCulloch - Don't know what to say other than - 2million+ ?? That was too much to pay Mr. Bain!!! You need an escape alarm attached to your leash. Velicka - People have spoken intensely about Boyd being static, but this guy (despite having scored us a few goals) is a statue. From the 5 of those, my top choices for the door would be Fergie & McCulloch, but sadly, I bet they're still here next season. In fact, I'd put money on it, but not with Craig.
  2. I dunno, but I can see us fielding a 10-0 formation. Seriously though, we'll tank them. :spl:
  3. The more I think about this, the more I think how amazing our Boydy's goal scoring record is.
  4. There's some crackers there alright, but what I'm looking for is something along the lines of Novo holding the trophy aloft in high res. In fact a bunch of high res pics of individual players holding the trophy aloft would be ideal.
  5. Thanks mate, but those are no good. They're not high enough resolution & the official site logo screws up any that might be remotely useful.
  6. I was on the official site & couldn't find anything high res. Do I need to log in or something to get the good pics?
  7. Shevchenko, Inzaghi, Trezeguet & Totti are some other greats of the past 2 decades worth a mention. There's loads more as well.
  8. Has to be one of either Pele, Maradonna or Zidane. I'm a bit young to remember Pele playing though (was only a nipper) & there's something I've always disliked about Maradonna, so my favourite non Rangers player vote goes to Zinedine Zidane for being THE class act.
  9. Just that they be high resolution.
  10. Coolio
  11. Send me some good photos Frankie. It might be fun to ask everyone what they'd like to see on the banner/s. I'd presume that one with wee Nacho raising the trophy would be popular.
  12. I was in the job center at lunch time & the Celtic manager vacancy came up on the JobCentrePlus electronic job point. It said they were looking for someone with experience in handling young boys, carrying a clipboard & making tuna pasta bakes for 40 people. The job will also qualify the employee for tax credits. I'm guessing Celtic have gone down the Job Center route because of the £1000 - £1500 bonus they're offering employers now for taking someone on. :spl:
  13. If there's Daily clones available we could probably get 11 of 'em for nowt.
  14. No he's just a muppet Gribz. - Murdo McCloud9
  15. No, you're not the only one. Selling Boyd would be a travesty imo. I think he's going to keep improving his game & just get better & better. All the signs are there, that if he continues to improve aspects of his game that are lacking just as he's been doing this season, we could have a world class striker on our hands. I just ignore the flaws being nit picked because you can be sure that those flaws are being ironed out. We've certainly seen evidence of it & don't see any reason why Boyd or the people coaching him would stop trying to improve his game. If he stays & gets the same game time next season, I can see him breaking the 40 goal barrier. Now, there actually aren't that many strikers in Europe that break the 40 goal mark, so selling Boydy for something insulting like 4m would be very very bad business, no matter how much we paid killie for him.

    Reality Check

Drumming up arguments for Walter Smith & Ally McCoists departure at this point isn't constructive criticism though Frankie & there seems to be a lot of that going on across the gers internet forums. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion though. FWIW, I think it's undoubtedly the players' faults that displays like Saturday where a lack of desire are on show are so common. It shouldn't be the case that pro footballers on huge weekly salaries need prodded with a red hot poker before every game, but displays like Saturday are proof that perhaps they do. I'll say this much; it's no wonder that BF is saying to the press that his future is uncertain because after performances like that, he's not inspiring the club to want to keep him or inspiring other clubs to want to take him. Maybe he wants to be in limbo as some sort of childish petted lip form of self punishment.
  17. Another vote for Boyd's goal against Partick.
  18. Says the 4 year old in the poliss outfit. :fish:
  19. No, what you said came across fine, but I wasn't replying to you directly S_A, I was making a general reply to the thread.
  20. I don't think Lafferty looked tired the whole game, but he needs to look at some new tricks when taking on a man. Yogi obviously had his team well versed on how to defend against our players, that's all there is to it. Lafferty was struggling to go past men & Miller wasn't any better, but it wasn't because they were any more tired than the Falkirk players.
  21. I thought quite a few players were below par, but the CM were terrible. I thought most of the rest of the team actually put some effort in (albeit not enough), but BF & LM should have had the ability to dominate that midfield more than they did & unfortunately they fell way short of the mark. Barry looked like a kid coming back into a team after being told to go and stand in the corner with the dunses hat on, despite still being able to muster up the energy to berate his teammates. Anyway, lets not forget that the game unfortunately & quite obviously meant more to Falkirk than it meant to the new SPL champions & it was there for everyone to see. Falkirk played their hearts out whilst we went out like a team going to the park for a picnic in the sun. We still won though.. :spl:
  22. There were some poor showings, but ultimately the poorest displays imo were from the central midfield & that was Barry Ferguson & his buddy big Lee. The pair of them were utter pish. Plenty others were giving the ball away needlessly, but that central pair were dire. Fergie was even caught on camera berating teammates when he would have been better off concentrating on his own game for a change. I honestly hope Fergie leaves now after seeing that yesterday because if there's a disgrace, it's him.
  23. It's the results that count & I can't see past that in football. If you look at World Cup competitions as the ultimate example, how often do the slickest passing teams with the most skillful & talented players go out before the final, only for the most boring, slugging, defense oriented teams to go to the final & even win? The answer is written in the stats & it's 'very often'. My point with that, is that it doesn't detract anything from the winners, because they're the winners & the fact that a technically superior (or is it 'more pleasing to watch') side went out in the quarters or the semis has absolutely nothing to do with it. If Brazil or whoever that play amazing football don't get to the World Cup final, nobody with any sense is saying 'what a joke of a tournament, Brazil deserved to win it even although they only got to the quarter finals'. Results, results results. That's it. In summary - I don't give a toss how we win games, as long as we win them without cheating or controversial officiating.
