  1. I'm not getting 'cranky' Norris. You literally hounded me into explaining something which I didn't need to explain (& you know it) since you already knew what I was getting at/suggesting when it was actually pretty obvious what my point was anyway.
  2. FFS, I'll spell it out then, since I'm being hounded about it. You twisted my point when you selectively split my comments & posted "You've just answered it." in response to me saying "well above all the other non-OF teams". Well, my (rather obvious) point in saying that was that we're not doing badly & ARE well ahead of the other teams in the league. Where as you're point was suggesting that I was talking shite & that we ARE doing badly because we're currently second, haven't won the title for 3 years & have a 50/50 chance of winning it this year. So, you were basically suggesting that we ARE doing badly despite the facts & figures. Far from it in fact imo, but hay ho eh? I'm not not one of our 'support' that thinks tearing the house down and rebuilding it is a particularly smart move, so we'll probably always disagree on these matters.
  3. I shouldn't be forced into explaining this, but if you read my point correctly, I was responding to the fact that Norris said - "Total clearout needed, and that means Smith, McCoist, McDowall, Durrant, the whole shebang. They are doing nothing for Rangers.". My point was that they have & are doing something for Rangers. How close were we to winning the league last season? How close are we this season? My answer? - Close enough to not have Norris's attitude regrading giving them all a P45. Does that clear up the misunderstanding chaps?
  4. No offense mate, but if people are having trouble understanding what I've written or suggested, they either need to read it again or give up & presumably assume something about it. I don't feel the need to explain myself or my comments whether they're fully comprehended or not.
  5. Not really Norris, since I seem to be getting warned along with the rest of us about petty arguments &/or remarks.
  6. Maybe you have to read it slightly differently. Anyway, I think we ARE at the top, relatively speaking. Reality check - We're 12 points ahead of the 3rd place team (Hearts) & 17 points ahead of the 4th place team (Aberdeen) & we've got a game in hand over them both. We're only 3 points behind Celtic & are still in with a cracking chance of winning the title.
  7. Re-read my point & the answer to it SA. The point I made wasn't twisted at all, it was very straight forward.
  8. I have to agree that bringing on Daily was a dire decision. FWIW, I also thought that taking off Lafferty was a poor choice of tactics, but it doesn't make me want to see the back of WS.
  9. I seriously doubt that forcing the views & aspirations of a select number of fans down their throats would alter their passion to go out & win matches for the club, but I may well be wrong.
  10. That's the thing Frankie, these players are earning so much money, that the bonuses being offered don't actually mean a hell of a lot to them. I know that if I was earning their wages, a 100 grand in bonuses in a season would mean practically nothing to me financially.
  11. Form goes up & down, but I DO BELIEVE that we can still win this SPL title. If only every other Bear believed it too.....
  12. There's really no need to twist the point I was making Norris.
  13. No, I wasn't suggesting that that happens right now, simply that that's the way it should perhaps be. Money is the one main incentive that could possibly bring the players up to their full potential IMO. In other words, if they win, they earn their full salary, but if they lose, they don't. It's actually pretty sad that I'm even thinking & suggesting this, but at the end of the day, it's the only thing that I think would inspire football players to go out every week & give their all.
  14. Aye, they're doing nothing ....except having us competing at the top of the Scottish game again after the PLG disaster, well above all the other non-OF teams.
  15. Right, thanks Norris. That sounds strikingly familiar actually.
  16. Call it insight.
  17. Aye, righty ho Norris. I wonder how long it would be before you're calling for Coisty's head? I'm all for AM taking over from WS, but for it to be now, at this time, off the back of an OF game defeat to that lot, is completely irrational imo.
  18. Ok, I'm confused about this, so maybe someone here can fill me in on the concept behind this that I'm obviously missing. Gers fans writing articles for celtic-mad.co.uk????? This is a piss-take right?? Have a look.... http://www.celtic-mad.co.uk/news/loadgnrl.asp?id=438142&teamno=247
  19. I've just sussed you out mate. Ladies & gentlemen, say hello to Chesney. :fish:
  20. No thanks mate. I want us to win this SPL title & I know for a fact that doing what you're proposing WILL NOT help us win the title. I understand your disappointment after losing that cup final, but this is a step too far IMO.
  21. On the contrary. I think a management change at this point is a crazy notion fueled by pure disappointment that we actually lost a cup final to 'that lot', the holy unwashed. It would bring the upset we need to literally throw this SPL campaign away IMO. What I'm actually advocating is that the players' salaries be somehow based on whether they go out & win matches or not. In other words, give them the incentive they need. I don't know how it would work exactly, but off the top of my head, their wages should be reduced DRASTICALLY, being made up to their current take-home salaries only if we actually WIN. If they go out & only get a draw, the make-up margin is only 50%, so for example, a player that earns 10 grand a week only gets 2 grand, but if we win, he gets his full 10, if we draw he gets 6, but if we lose, he only gets 2. It sounds harsh, but that's the way it should be IMO. F*ck all this pay them a fortune & offer them extras on top shite. I'm sorry if I sound a bit heartless, but that's just pointless. Do you honestly think that a 15 grand bonus for a CIS cup final win (for example) means anything to guys that are earning over half a million quid a year? No, definitely not is the right answer.
  22. IMO, our first team players aren't earning their wages. There's no excuse for going out on a match day & not putting in 100%, yet that's exactly what we've been seeing lately. Lets face it, these players have an easy life. Yes, some of them could be on at least double their wages in the EPL, but that doesn't mean they're hard done by. Most of the first team are on over 10 grand a week & yet some of them waltz about during games like there's no need to worry about winning it. Sorry, but that's not good enough for what they're being paid. Wee nacho is the only one that consistently comes on the park & looks like he's willing to earn his coin. I have to say that Boydy looked the same when he came on in that cup final. He still wasn't at 100% effort, but he certainly looked right up for it - recklessly so in fact, much like Novo at times. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, because to be fair, Papac is another candidate for being one of players that IS actually trying to earn his money & do his best all of the time, but like all the others he still makes dreadful mistakes & decisions as well. I guess there's no way to remove that from football players, but there are definitely ways to remove the laziness & lack of spirit that we've been witnessing. As I've said elsewhere, these guys should be on a 'win to get paid' salary. Go out & win and you get paid. Go out and draw and only get half wages. Go out & lose & you get sweet FA. That's what you call an incentive & football players don't deserve any better than that anyway IMO considering how much they get paid & how easy they have it in general.
  23. Now THAT is fresh. 117 thanks in 72 posts, mostly involving taking cheap shots at Walter Smith & David Murray. Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that envy is talking here, I honestly think the 'thanks' & 'groans' forum feature is BS despite having been taking part in it. Hypocritical, I know. Sorry for going OT, feel free to delete my comments again uber mods.
  24. I expected better too Gazza. As I said on Cammy's thread, I'm really getting sick of the negative brand of midfield play we've apparently mastered. Forget standing up & being counted, taking on players & attacking the opposition, just take the easy option 9 times out of 10 & pass the ball back the way. I'm losing count of the number of times I see Fergie & Mendes being passed the ball from defense only to pass it back to defense again. Ok, there's a time for doing that, but that time isn't ALL of the time. These guys should be on a 'win if you want paid' salary IMO.
  25. Totally disagree mate. That's utter nonsense. Removing WS isn't going to win us this SPL title... no way. I honestly don't even think that replacing him with Alex Ferguson or some other world class manager at this point of the season would be good for us. We don't need the upset.
