Well, that's what I've been trying to say... albeit in a roundabout way.
-
That's what I was thinking, but what if the insane portion of the other lot manage to somehow get us some points deducted?
-
It's all fine and well to say that, but do you think that bringing back the TBB (in whatever form) will help us win the SPL title this season, or is it possible that it could somehow cause us to loose it? Just wondering, since I'm really not sure on that one.
-
The thing is, it's not the club that we need to vent any anger at over this and it's not the club that can bring us out of this situation. Yes, the club could have done better by us & yes, the club may be able to help when it comes to getting us out of this anti-RFC agenda, but ultimately we need to somehow influence the media, which will in turn influence the religious & political agendas against RFC.
-
It's not only difficult mate, it's practically impossible.
-
Frankie, I think an important factor to consider is that it's not the people singing supposedly 'sectarian' lyrics to the song/s that got us in this trouble in the first place, it's the people complaining about it & we all know who they are. They're the people that are not only just waiting for a chance to f*ck us over, but actively partaking in seeing that it happens. Whether or not you agree that the lyrics are sectarian, the fact remains that they were being sung for years and years & now all of a sudden there's a religeopolitical agenda to pull Rangers fans up for something that as UEFA said, is a problem in Scottish society (and not ONLY Scottish society FWIW).

Thanks guys, so Novo & Beasley will still be with us unless they're sold in the summer. I guess that leaves Hemdani & Daily as the main candidates to be offski. Anyone we're missing?
-
Here was me thinking it was your time zone. :fish:
-
There's nothing on Beasley's official website. Funny site btw, but nothing like Sebo's 'Slovakian David Beckham' website. :fish: http://damarcusbeasley.net/

I'm thinking Novo will get a new/extended contract.

Well, UEFA, the SFA & SPL are all 'apparently' taking the matter very seriously, so no matter how twisted the whole situation is, the ramifications could actually be beyond a fine the next time. We're talking about possible points deductions, stand closures & potentially having to play European games behind closed doors. With sufficient evidence & level of complaint, then one or more of those governing bodies may well hit Rangers with one of those harsh penalties, no matter whether WE deem it as just or not. Is it fair? No, it's not. FWIW, I do indeed know what the poster of this content had in mind. We're being forced to stop singing things which for all intents & purposes we're entitled to continue singing, but lets not be too naive about this. A Scottish court prosecuted a Rangers fan for singing the famine song when there was essentially no official law in place to say that it was illegal & I've got no doubt that RFC would be prosecuted for the support resurrecting TBB. Obviously, the club deserve some stick for not challenging these issues further than they have, but I personally think that they're being politically out-manoeuvred on these issues & don't have too much say in the matter.

It'll never happen. Starting him up front would be the final nail in Burley's coffin.
-
We need clarification on this without a doubt, because without clarification there's no way this can safely be sung atm without risking measures being taken against the club (no matter how insane it may seem). There's also the glaringly obvious problem that even if we were allowed to sing those original words, large sections of the support are likely to drift into singing the supposedly taboo versions of the song/chant. Maybe not immediately, but it would undoubtedly happen, the ramifications of which could unfortunately be very serious.

Do you not mean 'the ghost of Davie Weir'?

Walter Smith reportedly said yesterday:- "We have managed to trim our squad a little with some players leaving. It will happen in a more natural way in the summer when contracts expire." So, I'm wondering whose contracts will expire in the summer. I count Hemdani, Dailly & IIRC, Stevie Smith. Is there anyone else?

January Competition - Win a Copy of 'The Rangers Miscellany'

'Time for positivity' gets a thumbs up from me...

You obviously don't understand the underlying reasoning behind my point. We've been able to move out some youngsters on loan because they're talented & not on sky high wages, but when it comes to the first team squad's 'deadwood' as you put it, no other clubs outside the OF in Scotland can afford their wages, so that leaves us in a position where we need to hope that clubs outwith Scotland come in with interest in them, which they reportedly have done. You're complaining about our club's handling of something that they don't have a great deal of control over, since they can't force our players down English or foreign clubs throats. We've permanently moved out Darcheville & Burke while also getting Adam & Gow out on loan.
-
You're right mate, it did get ridiculously off topic here, but there wasn't really any other way it could go.
-
My point is.. contract = can't be told to F off. I don't see the point in moaning about everything, but clearly we don't see eye to eye on that.

First class!

God, he'll probably come back with his own candy floss machine, a donkey for the misses and a miniature fairground to play on in his back garden.
-
It's called a contract.

Aye, he's looking for tips himself these days.
