  1. Was just about to post that the sheep went 1 up, when the dhims equalized. Bugger.
  2. Can't say I disagree with a single word in your post. ...and no... I'd say five points behind (could be less after tomorrow) with plenty to play for and still in both cups, is NOT a sacking offense or a situation that should cause the fans to suggest that ANY manager should step down from his position. Certainly not in my books, but I can see why the guys that just don't like Walter Smith FULL STOP, would be coming away with the drivel they are.
  3. Well, since the war in question is actually more part of a sick, corrupt power playing game of strategy in the middle east in general than the simple political & religious dispute we're led to believe it is, I fail to see any valid grounds for saying he should keep his political/religious views out of our club & off the park just because he wanted to wear a black armband. WAY over 1000 people have been killed there within 3 weeks under inexcusable circumstances & if he feels a sense of kinship & grief for them I think it should be respected. People all around the world are getting sick to the teeth of seeing innocent civilians being bombed in heavily populated areas like Gaza & Beirut. I think it's understandable that anyone would wish to show a public stance of grief for the needlessly lost lives. It's also pretty farking fresh for any old firm fan to preach about leaving politics & religion out of football in this particular case. edit - just added 'in this particular case' to the end of my last sentence to save any confusion as to what my point was.
  4. Can't believe what I'm reading here FFS. So far you've managed to ditch WS & AM for either of the 3:- Levein, Jim Jeffries or Derek McInnes???? You guys must be having a laugh here. They're all doing a decent enough job with their teams, but they're also a bunch of muppets... OMG, what the hell are you thinking??? Jeffries & McInnes? A foreign manager would have a better grasp of the english language. :fish: Fook me, next thing you'll be saying you'd rather have John Hughes than Walter Smith. :fish: Joking aside, get a grip chaps!!
  5. Well up for seeing Fleck get a proper chance as long as we're NOT trying to sell him. That lad's got to be worth millions though, so never say never on a £250,000 deal being struck by Martin Pain. It's certainly weird timing for the announcement.
  6. Robert, you've inadvertently raised a very interesting point there!!. The way I see it is that a portion of the Gers support simply want Murray out (no matter what it seems), but for all intents & purposes SDM's ownership of shares is not theirs to sell or even attempt to sell on his behalf & dragging the club through the dirt isn't exactly a good plan for anyone who wants to see a respectable, wealthy buyer come in & take on the task at hand. I mean, why would any sane person want to invest SERIOUS time & money into running a football club if the club's fans are inevitably going to turn on you to the extent of saying they'd lynch you in the street? I hope you all understand why I won't sign any such protest.
  7. I didn't say I was happy or grateful that we're only 5 points off the dhims, but it does leave us still having a chance of winning the title, which I am quite happy about, so it could be worse. If it was 10 points I'd obviously be a bit more than worried. Would I rather we were playing better & more consistently? Yes, of course, but the fact that we aren't doesn't mean I feel the need to tell SDM or his management team to GTF. Ok, with the exception of that incompetent idiot Bain who CAN GTF & preferably ASAP.
  8. Yes, I'm delighted about all of that! Come on mate. No, I'm not entirely happy about everything regarding the club atm, but I AM happy about some things. For example, I'm happy that we got so far in Europe last year. I'm happy that we are still as good a club as the one in that city rubbish dump we know as Parkhead. I'm happy that we bought Pedro Mendez. I'm happy that we didn't buy 2 Kenny Millers. I'm happy that we're still in with a shout of winning the SPL since we're only 5 points off the dhims with plenty games still to play. I'm happy that I'm still optimistic about our club & not a moaning, whinging, pessimistic, hate filled knock it down & build it from scratch with no money type of guy.
  9. I'd stake my life on the fact that most people who'd organise 'Murray must go' or 'PLG must go' or 'Walter Smith must go' type banners or protests feel exactly the same maineflyer. These days they're probably picking up on the sentiments of other Gers fans they know, but more so those of some posters on internet forums. I can guarantee though, that they haven't done a thorough census of all fans opinions before voicing their opinion in the form of protest banners etc. Handing out some leaflets or whatever is one thing, but doing a thorough census of 45,000 Ibrox attending Gers fans is another story altogether. The logistics involved make it an almost impossible task. I'd be seriously interested in seeing the results of a thoroughly conducted census though....
  10. +1 ... I do like KT as well, but he's injured. I'd definitely consider dropping BF, but it's a tough call. I'd maybe give him another game or two, but the problem is how the rest of the team react to the captain being sidelined. If it's likely to be disruptive, maybe it's best he goes elsewhere... in which case, I now think he's the best player in the world & so should all other bears, since we can't afford to slag him off to the point that he's only worth ... erm.. practically nada.
  11. I'm not saying we should be keeping our mouths shut or burying our heads, but I seriously doubt that such a protest banner will do us any good either, since I fail to see how it could be an even remotely appealing sight for anyone interested in buying out SDM. That raises the question in my mind as to what on earth is the point of doing such a thing since SDM knows fine well that some of the fans hate him & want him out ASAP. We don't need a big banner/s to tell him that, since it's obviously going to culminate in more bad press & essentially just airing our dirty laundry in public. I'd rather not be giving other SPL teams any further reason to be laughing up their sleeves.
  12. St. Johnstone aren't a bad team at all though & to be fair they're looking likely candidates to join the SPL at the moment. I'm sure the banner & it's attached sentiment will do us a lot of good.
  13. I was being sarcastic. I'm sure you'd just LOVE to be buried with such a banner adorning your coffin. :fish: What? A support half full of bigoted neds? On saying that, the other lots' support are every bit as bad, probably worse. I doubt that. 2 things which MOST football clubs need to deal with. Oh right, but we're not most football clubs are we? Yeh, I forgot, we're the best & not being the best is grounds for sacking the board, the management & telling all the other staff including the players that they're all F'ing useless. Ever the optimist, eh maineflyer. Dear oh dear... what moral boosting confidence you incite. Did SDM organise the dumping of some toxic waste in your front garden or something?
  14. What about a reverse psychology approach? It could have severe impact you know! Banners & flags saying 'We Love You David Murray, PLEASE DON'T GO' or 'David Murray, Simply The Best'. T-shirts of the same ilk & maybe even a new song as well.
  15. Terrible business indeed. Great idea eh... lets swap Scotland's best Striker for what looks like a player with even less pace, ability & goal scoring prowess. Wonderful...
  16. JUST SAY NO KRIS !!! pretty please....
  17. hehehe... you've gotta be on the wind up BD.
  18. Exactly! If he put his hand in his pocket to pay the bills (even if only a loan) then we wouldn't be shedding our only 30-goal a season striker for less than half his value!! Not only that, but even considering selling Boyd for that sort of money completely devalues the club & it's selling power. You can't sell players like Hutton & Cuelar for the sort of money they went for, then turn round shortly afterwards willing to accept peanuts for a player who's probably the most valuable in Scotland without seriously damaging your selling power. Every club down south will now be unwilling to make serious offers for our players, knowing that they simply don't need to.
  19. Thanks! I hope the rumours are true !!
  20. I'm preying that he stays & not because I've got a wager on it, but because I honestly think we've got a better chance of winning the title if he stays & continues scoring for us.
  21. Bugger, I better get the penny whistle out. Got groaned at for the SDM phone call to ECK joke as well... Think I'm gonna end up as the 1st to reach the groaned at 100 times mark. No wait.. Gribz is in with a shout as well.. :fish: DON'T AGREE THE TERMS KRIS !!!!
  22. Playing catch up here. Can someone tell me the state of the Boyd transfer? Is it a done deal yet? If not, is it certain to be a done deal after a medical? What's the script? Is he offski?
  23. AFAIK, Gow & Daily were brought in for free unless you count any personal sign on fees they received, Velicka wasn't a bad buy as a backup striker in case of multiple striker injuries & Miller seems to have proven to be a worthwhile signing, although I didn't think he would be & also thought his price tag was too high at the time.
  24. I know what you're saying. Lets wait & see whether Boyd gets sold or not & for how much. In my mind, if the money men you speak of let Boyd, who's Scotland's No.1 striker, go for less than 5-6 million, then someone must have been spiking their coffee.
  25. I can understand any Gers fan idolizing Kris Boyd more than I can understand anyone slating Walter Smith for his signings since his return. If you look at all the signings in detail, he's brought in significantly more players worth having than players not worth having. I'd question the worthiness of the signings of McCulloch, Lafferty & Edu which amount to about 8 million & that's a substantial amount of cash, but all three could actually have turned out to be great signings. Arguably, Lafferty & Edu still might since they're both youngsters who the jury should realistically still be out on.
