To be fair though, the Hutton offer/deal was one that would see any player having to leave unless they happened to be worth more than 9 million. Being offered 3.5-4 million for Boyd is a complete insult. He might have only cost us 400 grand, but he's proven through his goal scoring record, that he's worth a hell of a lot more than 3.5-4 million to a top Championship side. Selling Boyd for that sort of money would be a complete joke, whether we desperately need the cash or not.

If Kris Boyd's got a final say in the matter, he'd have to be completely mad to move to Birmingham. It's got it's good points, nice areas etc like any City, but I worked & lived there for almost 2 yrs in Bearwood (which is one of Birmingham's nicer areas) & would have to say that Birmingham on the whole is an utter shithole compared to Glasgow. Just an observation. There's also areas in Birmingham where white men are not welcome, seriously. Some of the residents there even put up signs to say so! I'm not racist, so when I lived there, it was like, fair enough, I guess I won't go there then, although I did witness the areas by car. Obviously I don't know him personally, but I seriously doubt that Boyd would like living & working there after settling in. I don't know where they train, but Birmingham City stadium is in an area that I'd have to class as not very nice at all in comparison to Ibrox. In fact, Birmingham City Stadium is perched right between the main industrial side of the City center & no-white-man land. Not nice at all & I know that for certain since the place I worked was less than a 3 minute walk from City's stadium. DON'T GO KRIS !!!

I was exaggerating a bit mate. What would piss me off is that Eck has avoided coming in for any of our players & now - bright spark that he is, has the oh so wonderful idea to grab our best striker & render us practically neutered. Well done Eck. Been drinking that green water down there in Brummy land or something??

The day this news is finalized will be the saddest day of 2009 for me unless a family member were to pass away. If Murray sells Boyd for anything less than 5 million he's just lost the last bit of support he had from a vast number of Gers fans.

I notice that despite them having scored several less goals, Anelka & Eto are both above Boyd in the table & another who's scored the same no. as Boyd is 2nd place compared to Boyd's 7th - all because of the 1.5/2 Factor BS. Still, mustn't grrrumble!

We didn't pay that much for Velicka, so I'd guess that he was brought in as back up incase we got a couple of 1st choice strikers injured. Want a nice wee 'conspiricy' theory Super_Ally? Maybe Velicka was only brought in to piss off Romanov. Same could be said of Webster. :devil:

I don't mind at all if he stays, but he definitely needs to keep his finger out of his arse & be made to fight for his place then prove he should be keeping it just like everyone else in the starting 11. Loosing his cocky or 'galas' (as Eck put it) attitude would be helpful as well, since he's one of these players that thinks he's better than he actually is. If you think like that maybe you don't feel the need to try as hard as you should be.

It's a complex situation you're talking about here SA. Every large forum community is complex & from what I can see, this one is no different. As I said on your other thread, I don't like to read abuse towards the club, management or players, but I personally think care should be taken when moderating peoples' opinions as well, no matter what they are. It's certainly not easy to get a good balance, but it's possible.

He was having a stinker at times & also looked off the pace at times, but being abusive about him is well out of order unless he banged yur misses or something.

I say, don't sing the Hocky Cocky because it's a piss take. If you want to be herded into doing what others want you to do, then go ahead, but the whole hocky cocky fiasko is just that; nothing more than a farse designed to make a fool of Gers fans. If you sing it, you're playing right into their hands & these are not hands that will massage your back.... more like break it.

There's no way back for Butcher & Burley on this one. They're the ones that weren't giving Boyd a chance since he only played 23 mins out of over 600mins for them despite having been fit to play. They are the ones that created the mess & they are the ones who have thoroughly f*cked up any real chance the national side had of World Cup football. They are both incapable & were the wrong choice by the SFA. The sooner they're gone, the better.
