DaMarkus Beasley today announced his desire to join the USA Olympic diving squad. A team USA spokesperson told reporters... "We'll be delighted to have a diver of such a high caliber join our squad. DaMarkus has all of the qualities we are looking for". Beasley commented... "I don't think this will be a conflict of interests or take much training time, as I get plenty of practice already playing football".

My only real disappointment in the signings has been Lee McCulloch (which I've mentioned many times here now). I think we've made A LOT MORE good signings than bad. As for the team the manager picks, I don't always agree with it, but we're still in the running for the SPL title, so despite how it looks, it's obviously not as bad as some people are making out. Your comment regarding referees is completely nonsensical & I presume that was as it was meant.

Lets not forget that some of the players may well deserve some blame for not performing to the best of their ability.

Bias in the governing body, in the officiating & in the press come to mind. What makes it the fan's fault to a minor extent is when they buy into the bias efforts of those 3 & are shoehorned into believing it to the extent that they sound like either Spiers or a dhim.

We wouldn't get them for what they're worth. We'd have to pay over the odds for them, which wouldn't be wise for those players. Paying over the odds for higher quality players than Berra or Driver might be worthwhile, but not for that pair imo.

I won't settle for second best or defend it, but I won't solely blame Walter & Ally if we fail to win back the SPL title this year because there's a lot more factors at play in the equation than either of them & SDM. People calling for their heads to be served up on a plate or for them to be sacked is not mere criticism.

That might well be the case, but not with everyone who defends them amidst a barrage or onslaught of abuse. I'm sure there's plenty people willing to stick up for Ally & Walter that don't agree with every single decision they make. I know that I'm not happy with ALL of their decisions, but I still think they've done well since taking over & that they will do well for us in the future if they're not hounded out the door by disgruntled fans & a hunting press as seems to be the norm at so many clubs these days.

Not for most Gers fans imo. We're still a club & we're still a top club whether we're in Europe this season or not. We're still challenging for the league title & we've got as good a team as any other in our cash starved league, probably the best in fact. So, imo anyone that feels like all hope is lost is either of a manic depressive persuasion, narrow minded or maybe even taking the mickey.

Dream scenario for me would be a goal each for Boyd, Miller, Novo, Lafferty, Davis, Aaron & Mendes. That makes 7 though & that's about as likely to happen against that lot as the Sun igniting Jupiter & it becoming a 2nd Sun in our solar system on the 27th. 3 points will do nicely. :devil:

I'd be happy to see WS stay on till summer 2010 & by that time McCoist will have been coaching in an Assistant managerial capacity with Scotland then Rangers for 4/5 years. That's plenty experience for him to take over as our manager. Much more than many other managers have before taking over at big clubs. McCoist at this point now is already more experienced, better qualified & understands our club more than Souness did when he took over.
