Have to agree with Ian. They're digging themselves into a big deep hole that lot, so just let them get on with it & hopefully they'll dig so deep that they can't get back out again.

Walter's ill-informed outburst riles the decent, web-savvy fan
Zappa replied to calscot's topic in Rangers Chat
Ok, I didn't put that very well since I was pissed when I wrote it, but no matter since I know exactly what a Protestant is & don't see any need to argue about the definition of it if we all know exactly what it means. I don't believe that people need to turn up at Sunday service at all to be justified or able to call themselves a Protestant though.- 51 replies

I respectfully disagree Mainflyer. The threat may well have been one much more serious than most people surmise. I honestly don't know, but if I was charged with the decision as to whether or not to condone singing TBB, I'd have to opt on the side of caution, purely through common logic.

Mate, that about sums it up, but it's a very complex situation now & not one that we can take lightly. Do I want to influenced by the Vatican? Do you? Being Protestant doesn't have anything at all to do with going to church. It has to do with not wanting to be dictated to by the Catholic religion/Vatican. FWIW though... there's very few churches in our PC Scotland that would openly 'protest' against the catholic church or any of it's beliefs. Mark- 51 replies

What Now for the Sectarian Songbook of Celtic Fans?
Zappa replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Aye, bring on the days where you can't sing songs that have been sung for decades. I'm no bigot, but I've had my small share of enjoyment from singing TBB at Ibrox whether that's ironic or not. Ricky, are you having a laugh or something?- 37 replies

I couldn't care less if he plays well for 90 mins or 5 mins. If he plays & scores a goal or 2 & we win the match thus getting another 3 points that's all I care about. Not interested in pretty football at the expense of winning. Mark

Cheers mate. I might have been tempted to feel like an arse, but I can't be bothered.

Righty ho pete. If that same mediocrity wins us the SPL this season through scoring goals, who's gonna knock it?

Right, sorry Frankie. As you can probably tell, I'm in a bad mood and shouldn't be anywhere near a keyboard. Mark

Mate if you're not really El Chico WTF are you doing with his name & photo?

Pardon my French, but they can stick their 'gentleman's agreement' where the f£cking sun doesn't shine.

Have to agree with Frankie regarding Thomson. He could be very sorely missed in midfield, since from a defensive midfield point of view he's been excellent. No messing. Hard tackles. break up opposition play. Full stop.
-
Walter should concentrate on bloody football, but to be fair he was probably practically forced into discussing the subject. He could possibly have dodged it though.

Totally agree with Calscot & Craig. No doubt Levein had his hand in the postponement.

Obviously Burley doesn't pay enough attention to his players roles in their club squads. WS has even said in defense of not starting or playing Boyd recently that he has indeed played him in one form or another in a large percentage of games (75% was it?). Totally agree. Burley can't get worked up about the team in general, so why should he be worked up about a player that he apparently doesn't rate, never mind play. +1

mmm.... this is a very interesting point!! Lets see then eh. Arab Wealth? Well as you pointed out most of it comes from the oil industry, so let me ask you... Is the Oil industry legit? Serious question btw!! Now believe it or not, this is an important question because as individuals, large percentages of our incomes are forked out for fuel (re- the 85 yr old pensioners that have to pay almost 100 quid a month for electricity). Ok, so the electricity companies are taking a massive share of this money, but ultimately the people supplying the fuel are either the Arabs or 'the others'/nazi-style global domination obsessed governmental types.... depending on your opinion of course. Legitimately? Righty ho.. see my points above & if they aren't enough to make you think about what's actually going on in our world I'll maybe suggest more food for thought.

So what's the 'real situation' then mate? (blinkers off, mind!!)
-
Maineflyer, you keep pointing out what a shady character SDM is, but he's a multi-millionaire businessman. Do you honestly think that if RFC is bought by ARABS, that they'll be any less shady? You're seriously misguided if you do because despite not having inside info about SDM's business practice, I am 100% ceratin that it's more above board than most ARAB wealth. All this bad mouthing about a guy that's tried to do good for our club has got to be a joke. Alright, so there's maybe been a few broken promises (if they were ever promises) & he's got a tendency to talk b*llocks occasionally, but who doesn't?

Aye and is it just me, or was Burley sharp enough to point out/insinuate straight away that it was a bad time for Boyd to quit the squad since it's such an important campaign? So why has Rangers & Scotland's best goal scorer only played 28 mins out of 540 mins then George? Georges reply - "Well it's quite simple really. I'm a poor manager that doesn't really know what he's doing & despite that fact that we all want to qualify for the World Cup, I'm doing my best to see that we don't". Just watch, while Burley, the mhedia & the tartan army turn round & blame Boyd through insinuations & snide remarks when we don't make it to Africa. You heard it here first.
-
Totally agree with you mate. George Burley is lemon, a cretin. In fact those words can't describe what a knob he is. I really can't describe how much I've grown to dislike the guy in such a short space of time. It's not hatred, but if he quit as Scotland manager tomorrow I'd be bloody relieved. We played pish in Macedonia & got beat, but Burley says he was really happy with the performance. Reckon we were lucky to scrape the 3 points against Iceland, because again we were shite. Then after only getting a point against Norway at home simply because Norway were unlucky not to score, Burley has the nerve to say it was a good performance? What? Looks like he's got the players believing that their performances have been good enough as well, since according to Scotty Broon we should all as a nation be proud of them. Righty ho.
-
here's the bbc's version of the story I'm glad Boyd's done this. I said to my brother straight after the match yesterday that Boyd should tell Burley to GTF.

We could find a donkey on Blackpool pleasure beach with more skill at setting out a football team. :fish:
