  1. 19th January Rangers v Hibernian: SPFL to discuss sectarian chants By Chris McLaughlin BBC Sport Sectarian singing heard during Rangers' match against Hibernian at Ibrox is to be discussed by the Scottish Professional Football League board. Chanting from sections of the home support made up part of the league delegate's report from the Scottish Championship game on 28 December. And the matter will be discussed at a meeting on 19 January. However, the BBC understands it is unlikely that action will be taken because of current league rules. Sectarian singing has featured in a number of domestic delegate reports in recent years. But the club has provided the league with evidence that they were doing everything in their power to prevent such behaviour. Rangers have also been fined by European governing body Uefa relating to offensive chanting in European matches. It has led to calls for a rule change within the Scottish game in a bid to tackle the problem. Following the match against Hibs, which Rangers won 4-2, the Glasgow club issued a website statement condemning fans who took part in what they described as "inappropriate singing". Rangers stressed it was a minority of fans involved and said would assist Police Scotland in identifying the culprits. Uefa fined Rangers in 2006 and ordered the club to make a public announcement at each of their home games pointing out that the chanting of the Billy Boys was banned after it was heard during a Champions League match against Villarreal.

  3. Tom Walsh off to Livingstone on loan is doing the rounds.
  4. Andy Newport PA journalist is reporting that Windass has a £3.5M release clause in his contract. Surely not!?
  5. Long day but finally put pen to paper with @RangersFC and signed until 2020 .. Huge club with ambitions of European football . Can't wait ⚽️ Josh Windass on Twitter what a difference a year makes..absolutely buzzing to sign for such a massive, ambitious club @RangersFC. ?????? Matt Crooks on Twitter
  6. Had this discussion many times and most of us who were going to Ibrox in 50' & 60's are certain that "Aye Ready" was on the Copland end of the main stand( can't say about Broomie). Problem is we cannot prove it.
  7. From Evening Times Rangers will try to land Accrington Stanley pair Josh Windass and Matt Crooks six months early after preparing a £400,000 double swoop, it is understood. The midfield duo are on their way north and will have medicals with the Ladbrokes Championship leaders early on Wednesday afternoon. Both men are out of contract at the end of the season and are now free to negotiate pre-contracts with Gers. But Ibrox boss Mark Warburton is keen to see the pair join up with his squad right away as the Light Blues look to push ahead in the promotion race. Windass - son of former Aberdeen and Hull striker Dean - and Crooks have already agreed terms but the timing of the move now hinges on Accrington owner Andy Holt. He has already hit out at Gers' handling of the situation but faces losing both players for a compensation sum of around just £30,000 each should they move in the summer. The Glasgow giants hope an increased fee will persuade the Sky Bet League Two side to release the players early, otherwise they will wait until their current deals expire. But Holt is furious his club is in danger of missing out on a potentially lucrative windfall, with cross-border compensation levels a fraction of the fees due between clubs in the same country. He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "It's ridiculous. We could lose them for free and Rangers could resell them and take any profit. They could sell them back to England if they wanted to. "Because they're getting them for free they can offer wages that other team can't offer. "It's not about the lads' rights to earn a living, I respect that and I like them. It's about what's right and what's wrong. "They've come a long way at this club, since they've been at Accrington it's transformed them. I don't like the way the rules are set out. "I don't like the way Rangers have gone about this, not picking the phone up to (Accrington manager) John Coleman. It's not illegal but it's not the way it should be done." Windass, 21, was watched by Arsenal earlier this season and has netted 11 goals in 25 appearances for Accrington this term. Crooks, also 21, can play in defence as well as midfield and has seven goals to his name from 24 outings this season. Warburton has made a swift start to his January transfer dealings after signing up Doncaster winger Harry Forrester and ex-Lech Poznan goalkeeper Maciej Gostomski on six-month deals.
  8. http://spfl.co.uk/docs/067_324__therulesofthespfl_1375800603.pdf Page 72 clauses 127 & 128. If we can sell more ST's for Broomie, we can greatly reduce the number of them at Ibrox.
  9. Would only take one of these guys to start talking and their whole world ends, how sad.
  10. Did not seem a problem for the police & security at the Hibs game.
  11. Assuming we are promoted this could get interesting. John Giligan stated in the answer to a question about them getting the whole of the Broomie that it depends on how many ST's we sell. We only gave Hibs the corner, let's hope we sell 40K plus.
  12. Started going to Ibrox on a regular basis in the late 50's, always been Brigton Derry Boys as far as I can remember.
  13. This is getting 85% support in a poll on FF. Just saying. Hullo Hullo We are the Rangers boys Hullo Hullo You'll know us by our noise We'll sing The Sash and Derry's Walls Surrender or you'lll die For we are the Glasgow Rangers Boys
  14. Rangers were founded by the four lads as a football team with no religious or political connotations. Some groups within the fan base try to align the club as Protestant for example, when in reality more and more of us lead a secular life with no time for religion of any hue. Anyone can support Rangers, that includes those who voted yes, atheists, socialists etc.
  15. Yes, there will be a minutes silence observed before kick-off, marking the anniversary of the Ibrox Disaster in ’71 From Dumbarton FC Twitter account.
  16. Everybody forgot we have a game tomorrow? Have started prediction thread above.
  17. I gie up, trying to post Harry Forrester aged 6 with Rangers strip. Honest.

  19. Guid New Year. 2016 will be momentous for our club.
  20. Ok have read through it again. Happy New Year.
  21. Got to agree, stopped reading at that comment. Why some of our fans talk in this way is beyond me.
  22. Don't know if you are being deliberately obtuse or it could be my poor English grammar. Not shit-stirring at all, just stating a fact that you have confirmed. Will leave it at that.
  23. Simon Leslie of The Blue Order I believe had something to do with it.
