  1. I love everything that Athletic do as a club by only having players from that region and it’s like a family run unit everyone knows the identity of the club and it’s one common goal, Sure we can’t do that from the get go but we can at least cut costs on spending x y z on has beens and focus on our future stars like young Rice & Curtis in which I hope Barry plays them in his remaining games to give them a chance to show case their talents. It actually saddened me when I found out that Billie Gilmore hadn’t actually played a game for Rangers first team yet was snatched by Chelsea yet had been at the club through our youth setup. All we have to do is look at this as a prime example of what we didn’t do to acknowledge the talent he was as it’s clearly shown with his performances of late with Napoli. I have a small glimmer of hope the DNA of our club will be revived due to what is happening with Leeds , I genuinely hope and have some optimism the new investors are aware of what the club means to us fans and the DNA of our club is restored as a club is nothing without its fans and as of late we have been left in the darkness. Yes time will tell and hopefully in due course there opening statement will highlight the intentions they want to achieve.
  2. Marco is what we need in terms of our team playing attacking football and winning the ball back with speed and velocity that us fans love to see plus many more strengths. I also believe there is no better person on the list or maybe I’m wrong 🤣 sure I think Gerrard coming back will be good and give certain fans and members a boost , yet to be honest will he bring Michael Beale back and all be back to square one again minus the league and trophy’s. I just can’t get over the fact he said he was moving on to bigger challenges and seems like this is his only ticket back to potentially different clubs after we “Rangers” have taken him on a similar journey like we did before.
  3. Yeah, true indeed I suppose that wasn’t a good idea mentioning him 🤣 I just seen New York/ New Jersey and thought of Reyna. Amazing talent but your right he has had to many muscular problems and his last one putting him out for 8/9 months
  4. Leeds have just been granted permission to upgrade there stadium to 56,000 https://apple.news/AfMWos3YrTaKerCEvfIF8DA
  5. Well let’s hope with this new ownership / franchise knows how too work out maths properly and knows about buying and selling players at the right time whilst also developing our youth system and buying young players who are going give us a profit and not losses when the time comes to make us profit. They have the loyal fan base so that side of things will never dip in value let’s just keep our out goings low while maximising the income for the club by making Shrewd decisions both on and off the pitch, we get rid of the rotten apples and not just feel grateful for the odd few million pounds hear and there I want us to get back to the glory years of a successfully run football club we all know has been missing for many years now! Plus on the upside of things I want one of those bear hats you can add water/ juice( Irn-Bru ) at half time as the emptying the water into those cups is ridiculous, plus time you gulp all the liquid in the paper cups as for fear of the arse falling away your away to the 🚾 missing ten minutes of the second half.
  6. Rangers confirm takeover talks with US investors https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ceqrvzdrw24o
  7. Is that New Jersey/ New York border in the back of the Statue of Liberty, Reynas birth place I believe, let’s hope young Reyna comes along for the party as well since his Dortmund contract is coming to a end, let’s hope those connections puts us in a strong position.
  8. Also have Rafa, Big Sam, Dyce in the mix.
  9. Right or wrong? https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckgev0ygk8po Thoughts on this one and our next chapter as a football club moving forward in terms of recruiting young talent, will this restrict young players from moving on to benefit there careers like young Billie Gilmore did who is now thriving in Italy,
  10. https://www.depop.com/products/greatestfootballshirts-2013-14-14-naismith-glasgow-rangers/ looks smart and similar to old one.
  11. Reading something earlier today, i can’t find article too add link, it said if Athletic win the group we automatically get moved up one notch due to other teams league positions etc. found it ! https://apple.news/A7xiG9dOmS2K6mII5ZJ7EYw
  12. AI generated, man generated, whichever way you see it, it’s a puzzle indeed. We are no different in solving our future or our direction in which we are going until the deal is done. Let’s hope there is some direction in which we are going and are not just in a line, as I see good things coming from Leeds with the new owners. I suppose it’s been similar with Newcastle and Ashley , get the rotten apples out and hopefully the new apples will be more successful. In my own opinion, I think we should be run by us, the fans, then we will know what’s going on via a voting system, but that ship has long sailed, so we need to rely financially driven decisions rather than just passion and pride. A puzzle is indeed an overrated example here; it’s more like Hellraiser's cube, and only those who are in the loop will actually know its true meaning and outcome.
  13. It's a fascinating puzzle, isn't it? This question of "why?" hangs heavy in the air, especially given our history. You've laid out the landscape of potential motivations brilliantly, and I agree, the romantic notion of pure supporter ownership feels like a distant memory for most clubs at our level now. Your analysis of the three remaining possibilities – prestige (inflated ego), profit, or a hybrid – feels spot on. I also lean towards dismissing the "prestige" angle in this specific instance. As you say, these aren't individuals typically associated with that kind of image-building through sports ownership. That leaves the financial motivations, and your breakdown of those avenues is insightful. The Champion's League dream is certainly the one that ignites the fanbase, and you're right to question the level of investment required to make that a consistent reality. Gerrard's spending, while ultimately delivering the league title, didn't guarantee that golden ticket of Champions League qualification. The financial outlay for sustained success at that level is immense and carries significant risk. Your point about player development and sales being a more "attractive" option from a purely business perspective resonates strongly. The Strasbourg/Chelsea model you highlighted offers a stark illustration of how a multi-club ownership structure can prioritize the needs and financial well-being of the flagship club. The potential for Leeds' growth in the Premier League dwarfs the immediate financial rewards of even a successful Europa League campaign for us, making that pathway seem like the more logical focus for a purely profit-driven entity. And your final point about reducing overheads is a sobering but realistic possibility. Maintaining a competitive edge domestically to ensure European football while streamlining costs could be a sustainable, albeit less glamorous, strategy. It wouldn't necessarily bring the trophies and European nights fans crave, but it could be a pragmatic approach for owners focused on long-term stability and modest returns. Ultimately, without any direct communication from the potential owners, we're left to speculate and piece together the clues. Your analysis of the financial realities of Scottish football and the potential synergies (or lack thereof) with their existing club in England provides a compelling framework for understanding their possible intentions. It certainly gives food for thought beyond the initial excitement of a potential takeover. Let’s see what our future brings and may it happen soon as it can’t be any worse than it already is.
  14. Not Rangers merchandise, but 😂 one from Kilmarnock or one to terrify the kids Greenock Morton 🤣
  15. As tough as the decisions were on the two penalty appeals were, actions need to be taken to actually take into consideration of the player who feels he has been fouled or at least looked at by VAR, Especially with the amount of time they usually take up drawing there Picasso lines or looking into bad fouls. Let’s hope our next few games and the take over are positive results.NS 🔴⚪️🔵
  16. Diomande has been pretty decent so far!
  17. Let’s hope we give a good performance tonight, same effort as previous game and I’ll be feeling optimistic in the later stages of the game. NS
  18. This article isn't Rangers it's Man utd fans moaning about the players sporting a new Golfing range, I know we also sell golf stuff but whats made your say “You've taken that too far” on merchandise? https://apple.news/AnfjpY3piRY6Ie5MAlqkJvw
  19. I loved the bit at the end watching from my Tv and the fans reaction to the sheep supporters, also plus the fact I'm in the middle of the Cairngorms screaming from the top of my lungs when Hagi curls that in 🤣. There is no better feeling when you walk outside your house with the Gers jersey surrounded by sheep thinking they have won the day. 💪🔴⚪🔵 NS
  20. Let's hope we get a win today, especially after the epic 10/9 man battle we did on Thursday, I don't fancy giving the title despite it being lost due to the fact we got beaten by the 🐏. Let's push it to the very last minute 🔴⚪🔵
  21. 2-1 FGS Danilo if not starting then Dessers
  22. Am I still dreaming you better believe I am, luck indeed played a massive part in our draw last night as @JohnMc said in his lucky, lucky, lucky post I bet a few hundred thousand maybe millions of other fans wanted us to get pumped last night , What I took from the game highlights is that whatever was said on Monday with Barry and his home truths or the players as Kelly said double digits got off there chests done them a lot of good as they played as one , of course the proof is in the pudding come our next league match against the sheep but right now I’m proud of every player and Barry and the coaching team for sticking to their game plan. We don’t ask for much all we ask is each player gives their all. 💪🏻🔴⚪️🔵
